I've always been pro-Italy where it doesn't clash with England, I blame James Richardson and Channel 4. 2006 was the second best it could have been for me.

Paddy Power offered 33/1 for the home nations plus Ireland to get through from the groups. Didn't think to look for a bet like that as that's certainly the type I'd go for. Damn!!

now that croatia have come to the forefront as the dark horse that might actually get to the final you just know they're gonna blow it now...
so going on that my hunch is a poland v belgium semi final in the top half & a germany v france semi in the bottom half, with the winner of that tie claiming the trophy. |

England vs Wales (the 2 countries that voted out) in the Euro final....that'd be delicious
![]() In all serious, this is an open tournament where quite a few teams with a bit of luck have a shot of winning the tournament. Not many on here will predict correctly the 2 finalists from the last 16. I obviously want England to win it but if they don't then I'm happy with any team winning except for Spain, they bore me to tears. |

With my original prediction out of the window, my predicted final now is Belgium v France, although Spain could quite easily be there instead of France depending on circumstances.

I've still got Germany and a jinxy Wales bet. All my golden boots are still in, but Gomez is the only one who looks at all likely.

Well my Thomas Muller bet is looking unlikely. Don't think I'll be winning any golden boot bets, but outright winner is still on with Germany, and the little bet I put on Wales. And the £10 I put on England to get the £5 free bet every time they win with William Hill.

I thought that whole 'worst team in 50 years' was a load of bollocks but I was still expecting Spain to win because that's what they usually do.

As an Italy supporter, I live in hope. I only got them at 12/1 though despite them dropping to around 20/1 after their ROI "defeat". Now they are 7/1.
I only have a tenner on them but £120 is something! |

Last bet on now is Eden top PL goalscorer.
I have no money on either but because of Chelsea, have been rooting for Italy and Iceland as well, great tournament for both.

This has been a disastrous tournament for the small punter...unless all your money has gone on Iceland to progress through the stages!!

I'm thinking Portugal for the final from their half but from the other half I'm not sure. I'd like it to be Italy but think they might come unstuck this time against the Germans.

Interestingly (well to me at least) 4 Euro finals, since the tournament went to at least 2 groups minimum from 1980 onwards, have been between two teams who faced each other in their opening group games in that same tournament.
Euro 88 Russia - Holland Euro 96 Czech Republic - Germany Euro 04 Portugal - Greece Euro 12 Italy - Spain Belgium/Italy and (as it stands as I write this) Iceland/Portugal could both follow that trend. However It seems to be on a 8 year cycle, so it's due to happen next in 2020, if of course it stays to pattern (it didn't happen in 1980 as only the top team in each group went straight to the final) Also every 12 years an unfashionable team seems to win it Denmark in 92, Greece in 2004....Maybe Iceland in 2016 or Wales ![]() I'm happy with whoever wins it though. That's all the nonsense I'm spouting today

I think the winner between Germany and Italy will be the team that wins the Euros
