Thanks for the information Have you seen Emmerdale's summer preview video on the Emmerdale website? Iain Mcleod says that there is a big "twist" coming up in the Belle & Jermaine story, and it showed Belle crying and looking distressed, I think you're right, she's going to have a mental breakdown for something.

She is going to be pregnant with Jeremiah Dingle, the twist is that this will be the first black Dingle.

The story line became a joke when I saw what the doctors wife looked like.

If Jay-z can cheat on Beyonce Dr. Bailey can cheat on his wife with Belle. The only part that doesn't make sense is he's still smashing when he knows she's underage and could end his career.

Looking at the link I posted to the DS article I think is looking all the more likely that Belle is going to have a mental breakdown, and that will be the twist.

So we will have Belle and Chas having metal breakdowns at the same time #facepalm

It's not going to be the happiest of summers with mental breakdowns, explosions and revenge etc I'm still looking forward to it though

I'm the opposite, If this turns out to be just another tedious affair/cheating storyline then It's crap imo. However, If they explore the affect that her Mum & Dad's separation has had on her (and how that is a trigger for her mental health problems to return) then I think that will save this storyline. I think they are going down this route, we've been told to expect a "massive" twist in a direction that we weren't expecting, and I think this is it.

You'd definitely need to have alot of stroke [ie. being a big star] behind the scenes to be able to say No to certain storylines and stay employed with the show. There is no SAG [Screen Actors Guild] here as far as I know so that wouldn't help her.

I think they' ll go with the effect on her mental health. She' s had a few traumas in recent years, and although I wouldn't describe her as a child , at 17, she is very young and also extremely vulnerable because of her mental health. To me, that's where it differs fro Vanessa/ Kirin. Vanessa was silly, but Dr Bailey has some responsibility for Belle and is not doing his duty by her, not only as a much younger person, but one being treated by his surgery. He' s not much of a GP if he doesn' t realise that with her health history, and in addition her age and recent family problems, being a ' bit on the side' to someone who SHE really loves is the last thing she needs.

Exactly, I can't believe that he is continuing this affair knowing about her history of mental health problems, her age and how vulnerable she is as you say.

The Dr is a total predator. I know Belle is over the age of consent but he's totally taking advantage of a fragile teenager.

It's actually quite an interesting storyline especially if it does lead to her mental health issues coming to the fore again.

I agree, it will be interesting to see it explored once more, these things don't go away.

It would be interesting if she attacks the doctor's wife or even causes her death but I doubt they'll go down the route. I wonder what the twist that we haven't seen before will be? Surely we've seen just about all possible twists in the many years of soaps and dramatic storylines?

Perhaps he's seeing someone else as well as Belle - and the someone else is a man! Thus he'd be cheating on his wife with both a man and a woman.

BIB 2: I'm not sure, I think Emmerdale are capable of pulling a twist out of the bag, they're usually quite good at them imo.

I don't they are capable of something jaw dropping that won't be leaked although they did keep the return of Rachel a secret as a way of getting rid of Charity for a while. It wasn't huge though. I can't see Belle accidentally killing someone else even if she does have a breakdown or she'll be like the Emmerdale version of John Stape the accidental killer. It's intriguing but surely means the end for the doctor as he'll be struck off.

I don't know if this means anything but the actor that plays Doctor Bailey was at the BSA's on Saturday, which makes me think that maybe he will become a regular cast member (at least for a bit)
