I'm starting to think that Dr. Bailey has been setting up Belle for months now, always intending to frame her for his wife's murder. By all indications she's an heiress of some sort-I doubt that fabulous house was bought on his salary-and he's been after her fortune since he married her. He can use Belle's mental health history/Gemma's murder and the stalker angle to make his dream come true.

That's so good!!!

Will psycho mamma Barton, who knows the truth have her revenge on Bailey?
I think that Emma will be in some difficulties with her own professional body. She knew what Dr Bailey was up to, but did nothing about it, despite Belle's youth and vulnerability. If it all comes out, she could be struck off the nursing register and lose her job.

Please let that happen, she needs to be found out. The number of lies she tells to manipulate people, the jealousy she has of Chas, it's frustrating to watch her getting away with it.

I'm guessing this storyline has concluded now, It hasn't featured all this week.
It hasn't. It's set to get worse (more far-fetched) in the next few weeks.

That's actually quite an interesting twist, which is probably why it won't happen.

Hah, thanks, Whedonite. Going by recent developments I doubt it'll happen now. Although maybe somehow Dr. Bailey and his wife will slowly reconcile over the summer and the murder happens in September or October.

I couldn't help but think how young she looked tonight next to Bailey. It was odd too how in the beginning he was adamant to get away from her, then as soon as she said she was pregnant he's all smiles and is like 'hey let's move away together'. Was abit out of character! I always got the feeling it wasn't just because of Cain that he didn't want her, he never really did want her, only for fun.

I'm enjoying this storyline, and although predictable that Belle would claim she's pregnant to keep Jermaine in the village, I like the twists in this story. It is one of the best in the show at the moment along with Ashley's dementia and David's cancer.

So many of you on here moan, I actually wonder if you watch Emmerdale (or any other soap) to enjoy it or criticise it.

I think he felt like he would be being selfish just to leave her to cope with it on her own, as he put it she didn't get "pregnant" herself. Interesting to see what happens now and how long she'll keep up the lie.

If he is a real doctor, the lie will last about 2 minutes, surely he's not that stupid.

BIB: I agree, although I must admit I think this storyline has been a grower, I wasn't a fan of it at first at all (In fact I hated it) but now that we've seen it explore the character of Belle more, I've enjoyed it, as well as the twists and other characters (Charity, Emma's) involvements as well.

I've just read you're post back and feel that I may have misinterpreted the (BIB) To clarify, do you mean in the beginning of the storyline or at the beginning of the scene (before she told him she was "pregnant"?) If it's the former I agree, when he found out about Belle's mental health issues and how vulnerable she was he was adamant that they ended the relationship, then all of a sudden he's fine with it and the affair continues for months after

Perhaps the reason Germaine stayed, on hearing Belle say that is pregnant, was because his wife wouldn't, or couldn't, have children and he is excited at the thought of being a father

Belle, supposedly the brains and saviour of the Dingles. Makes her sound like the soap equivalent of Anakin Skywalker. Knowing what happened there.

Nail. Head. He wants the child, not her.
He's not a doctor any more so he can't "innocently" check.

I certainty wasn't expecting Bailey to hang around now, I thought that once it was all out he would be gone never to be seen again.

What a horrible, sly deceitful child she is, the Doctor did wrong of course, but for her( or any other woman) to lie and fake pregnancy just to keep a man is the lowest of the low, and if they fake a miscarriage then that will be extremely upsetting for women who have actually has miscarriages, I cant see the character coming back from this one, she has killed, cheated, lied and now this, end of the line for Belle I think.
I agree, you can just see her as a mini Chairty in the making

I can't stand watching this storyline any longer it's just so wrong,I know the actress is a teenager but she still looks like a little girl there are some 17yr olds who look more mature but not Belle I just think it's a bad story all round considering the absolute fit she had at Joanne calling her a home wrecker.

I must admit I was shocked that Bailey was sticking around, I assumed that he'd be gone by the time the affair was exposed to Angie.
