This may be a bit presumptious but unless he is mentioned I. The next few episodes i feel this is justified

Bobby confessed in front of a full pub including Max's brother hoe can that not be a re trial at worst. Ok he will get a year for he escape but Evan so. You would have thought someone would have mentioned him tonight
I know !!!!!!!
Do hope Max gets some real personal justice, so many of them due for a large serving of humble pie. That's what we wanna see.

Bobby has to be Locked up soon.
Along with Ian and Jane if she survives. Realistically what jail time would you get for perverting the course of justice in a murder case ?

Send them down I say but get Maxy out first.

You have to feel sorry for Ben ....not only is he not the only gay in the village , he's also now not the only child to murder someone

It says something when Kim is the only one to mention Max might be innocent, Jack evidently could careless he barely mentioned Max since return I think if a kid said he killed he sister in front of a room of people, I think it deserves more then a passing thought.

I guess until people get real proof, they may not believe it. They can just say Bobby was confused etc. I guess it is down to the police to believe what Bobby says.

Stacey, Martin, linda (defending Jane), Pam, les, Mick, Lee, Whitney, donna. Patrick

Clip can be seen here:

That explains why Mick bought what Bobby said to tonight when he tied it back in with conversation on Ian wedding night.

As for Stacey. She started her downward spiral in terms of mental health not long after Max was imprisioned. She's only just got out of hospital. She's clearly going to be the one to tip Lauren off.

I'd love to forget Max but unfortunately DS forum members keep mentioning him. With a bit of luck he'll stay forgotten by his family and neighbours for a long time to come yet.

The police believe Max is guilty of killing Lucy and have convicted him. I hope Bobby doesn't confess now. It's taken a decade to get rid of that ginger tw

Before he was locked up nobody (except sorcha) gave a shit about Max. Now suddenly he's treated as a martyr. There's a reason he has more support on here than he does in his own family; nobody can stand the sight of him whether he's innocent of killing Lucy or not.

Max was an immoral scumbag from the day he was introduced and is certainly no victim. I have no sympathy for somebody who actually tried to condemn his own niece to life in jail just so he could bang Stacey Slater again.

Great post.

I couldn't care less if Max rotted in prison for the rest of his life. He treated that poor tart Kirsty like something he scraped off his shoe. How anyone could feel sympathy for him after that (least of all women!) is beyond me. That scene where he threw her out is one of the most revolting I've seen on EastEnders. I'll never forget that or how he was stood there with a stiffy when the suggestion of his niece being imprisoned for life just so he could bang Stacey was put forward by Kat Slater.

Awful, morally bankrupt scumbag. Worse than Philth.

I keep hearing this one as if somehow the fact that nobody likes him absolves them from what they've done. As if Phil who bribed the Jury has morals . As for the Alice thing, I dont hear anyone having a go at Janine -who actually killed Michael and put the blame on Alice. But then Janine can do no wrong at all on here.

It doesn't absolve them at all. But Max being in jail after he schemed to get his own niece locked up is karma. Straight up.

So presumably Phil, Ian, Jane and Sharon being locked up next would be karma for them too...

Janine showed gulit about Alice and confessed in the end. There was no such reaction from Max. He thought Alice being in prison for murder was the best possible outcome. I was thrilled when Phil bribed the jury member to get Max sent down. Try that on for size, Maxy Pad

Phil has no morals and Janine has few but at least they own it. Max is just a d!ckhe@d

Ian and Jane have had plenty of karma dished out already, and Jane will also probably be facing a lengthy jail sentence.

As for Phil, no doubt he will got shot, bashed over the head, or end up in jail again before long. He always gets punished for his behaviour but never learns.

The Brannings are eternal losers and will always end up worse off when they try and play with the big boys.

Before Janine confessed, only Janine and Michael knew 100% what happened between them in the end and he was dead. Kat or Max couldn't be certain of Alice's innocence.

The only evidence against Janine was a recording they hadn't listened to that should've been inadmissible in court anyway. It was Kat who took the stand with false evidence, not Max. Saying that somebody deserves to be locked up for life and abused in prison (as intimated by Max when he was on the run) for being a womaniser is ridiculous (not that I think anyone saying this is being entirely serious).

The biggest issue for me is that this is out of character for everyone concerned. Kathy is one of my favourites but her wanting to cover for Bobby last night annoyed me. A year ago she didn't even know him. She did know Lucy. In a way you could put it down to her not wanting to let Ian down again after faking her death but that hasn't been verbalised and it's still wrong. Even Ian wasn't bothered about Bobby in the end when he chose to go to the hospital without a backwards glance.

Saying that Kat and Max couldn't be certain of Alice's innocence is a red herring. The whole thing was set up with Janine in order to get Stacey off scot free. Kat and Max conspired to send Alice down (who was innocent of murder) and let two actual murderers go free.

Nobody is seriously saying that Max deserves to be in jail for being a bit of a bastard, but like I said I have no sympathy for him regardless.

Because it's Max, an odious creature only liked by the equally odious Tanya and Stacey, I can fully buy into him being an easy scapegoat for the murder. If it was anyone else I don't think it would ring true. I certainly don't think he deserves what he got just for cheating but if you walk around with an attitude like his, rubbing people up the wrong way and treating women like shit it's not surprising when no one rushes to your defence. Even Lord Philth has had to learn this from time to time. Ironically, Max took full advantage the last time Phil was locked up and swindled his businesses out of Ben's hands. Karma indeed.

Are we so used to bad writing and characters behaving amorally now that people genuinely don't find the behaviour of Ian, Jane, Phil, Sharon and Kathy shocking? (Also Lauren, Peter, Liam, Cindy and the bent cop).

Ian and Phil have always had the capacity to be bastards but this was low even for them.

Alice was no "victim" either. She agreed to go along with Michael's plan to drug/kill Janine with little persuasion because she fancied him.

Those expecting Max to exact some kind of genius revenge plot against those who wronged him are going to be in for a disappointment. Max is an enormous wimp and if he does manage to get revenge the backlash from Phil will make a year in prison seem like a long holiday. I don't even know why Max would return to the square now. Everyone hates him and if a year in prison hasn't proved that beyond all doubt I don't know what will. This is the perfect end point for the character of Max.

Bib. . Damn right.

I've said it before and I'll say it again just because max has done some bad stuff himself doesn't make it acceptable for the beales to go to jail for Lucy. What makes it worse is they know who the guilty party was.

Alice was certainly involved in Michaels death so it's not quite the same as the Beales

Max's karma was Phil swindling The Arches back along with the car lot which caused Max to lose his house.

What Phil did on top of that was over the top and sick, and not something the Phil of 20 years ago would have done.
