I'm obviously in a minority on this forum, but Wayne is one of my favourite acts from this whole series (not that there's much to choose from this year).

I don't give two hoots about his looks or personality, but when he sings it's like he's channeling the ghost of Frank Sinatra, and if you love that kind of music that's pretty special. He has an amazing swing voice in my opinion.

For what it's worth, I also really liked the impressionist that everyone else on here seemed to hate, and I thought his impressions were much better than the Mimic Men. Beginning to think I'm watching a different show from the rest of DS!

He got two of my app votes last night. Glad he made it to the final.

I agreed with the top three acts last night. I didn't think the sword swallowing guy was as good as he was in the audition, but all three of them deserved a place in the final.

A lot of the acts last night were either foreign or professionals. As long as someone good wins, it shouldn't really matter, but you can tell which acts would appreciate the opportunity more.

How on earth could Wayne be the most popular?

He's okay, and he can sing, but he's not outstanding. He's also over confident, irritating and a bit of a loudmouth.

There were so many better acts. He got more votes than Alex? Really weird.

Is it just me?
Well, that's life....

I'm the other way round - I thought last night was poor but tonight was a strong semi final.
I agree last night was much stronger so sadly we lost some decent acts, i loved Rachel thought she was a vastly superior singer to Wayne, he is mediochre

The answer is he can carry a tune, is young and good looking and male and a singer. He doesn't have to be good for people to vote him like a bunch of salivating cats at a mouse party

Yes I can believe it.

He sang a Rat Pack song which is always going to be popular with people over 70 especially. I went round to my parent's last night and whilst I was there, I caught the last few minutes of the show. I asked my dad who was his favourite and he said "the first singer", so I said "oh, do you mean the girl who sang" and dad says "no, it was a young boy, he had a cracking voice, brilliant".

I then saw the recap and as soon as I heard the song he sang, it made sense why my dad liked it. My dad loves all the Rat Pack stuff so anyone who sings any of these songs will always get my dad's support. lol

Olly Murs tribute act sings Sinatra - of course he was always going through despite the fact I'd rather rip my ears off than listen to him.

Agree Blondie & he did appear to think he could be the new Sinatra. At best, an average singer.

Don't be rude and ageist. What are you talking about 'the over 70's will like it'.

He may not be your cup of tea, and I myself wasn't that fussed by him, but it's hardly inexplicable why he was popular. He's a young, relatively good looking guy who can sing pretty well. He ticks every box for a lot of people who vote.
The part I find inexplicable is that he is so arrogant, cocky, big-headed, and just generally awful in terms of personality - can't the people who voted see that? Also his voice isn't that brilliant, I've heard loads of much better singers on BGT.

I half wondered if he had wandered in from the set of Jeremy Kyle.....he looked and sounded like a typical guest of theirs.

Expand on that. Why simple? There is not one reason I would call that guy 'simple'. Simple enough to come first in his category as voted by the public? Or are you calling the public voters simple for liking him? Do tell.
