From what I remember Max had an extra 12 months added onto his sentence because he ran from court but do you all think he will still have to serve that time?

Even though he was innocent escaping from court was a criminal offence and he did punch a police officer aswell and Max isn't due back until September and that will be 1 year since he was jailed so it seems like the best option to keep him off screen.

I think he would yes as it was a separate offence committed against the Court and Court officers.

It's like if he were to commit a crime when in Prison - he wouldn't be excused it because he shouldn't have been in there due to being innocent of the original crime.

I can't see them adding it on, by the time he is released he would have already served the length of time he would have got for the escape anyway so they'll just let him go

Maybe they'll feel so guilty for sending an innocent man to prison they'll let him off for that one! Lol

I'm no legal expert, but even if he did have to serve the 12 months for escaping once they know he is innocent I would have thought that they would review his case and may release him early on parole? If his sentence was twelve months he spying surely be eligible for early release with good behaviour? I think it's more likely he will be released off screen and then disappear for a bit whilst he plans his next move. Or, ee might just surprise us and have max back for a couple of episodes before he makes his full time return later this year.

Oh yes, that is clearly what will happen. An appeal would take a few weeks, once his conviction fot the murder is squashed they would then look at the Escape sentence state what it was, what has been served to date and as it will almost certainly be about what it would have been for time off for good behaviour, hek"l be released wih immediate affect. But the point is, that conviction and sentence will not be overturned.

Plus he hit that cop who dated Emma so he would of had an assault charge as well

People are forgetting he has been banged up for a year almost already, so it will come under time served.

Then he'll go for compensation!

I would guess that by the time the news hits that it was Bobby who killed Lucy, not Max, Max will have served that extra time so will be released

Unless they can lure him back sooner, he doesn't return to filming till Sept so won't likely be on screen until October or November so still nearly 5 months before he returns.

Unless Max is let out off screen and doesn't return to Albert square straight away.

Old Max should be released once it all comes out properly then heavily compensated, despicable behaviour by the Beales that is now being unearthed......what goes around comes around.....all the other bits and pieces should be forgotten about too. As for Lauren and Abi - he should disown them.....

Why would he. Everyone, including his own family turned their backs on him. Once he's got his head together, and collected his compensation, he can return and give them all hell.

In theory yes, as he was in contempt of court when he went on the run...

However, if he can be proven to be innocent of the murder charge (and to have been serving time for a crime he didn't commit) they would almost certainly suspend the other sentence.

The time already served would probably cover the contempt charge in any case

I wouldn't be so sure about that, over in Hollyoaks Cheryl Brady killed her own father (who she adored) when she found out he had been abusing her brother, the legendary Brendan Brady. Brendan took the rap for her and she went off into the sunset to live a life of luxury with her millionaire boyfriend.
How could anyone let their brother go to prison for life after finding out that he was abused as a child but still let him take the blame. A devil sister indeed
