The trouble with that switch by Liverpool is that means Everton and Liverpool are both at home in Week 28

The report says Liverpool still think Anfield will be ready regardless. Everton's game could easily be switched anyway. And if the fifth-round FA Cup ties fall on the same weekend as GW28, there's every chance either game would be postponed. Quote:
Sky will get to utilize the Friday night slot in Week 4:
Liverpool v Leicester - Fri 20:00 and Manchester Derby Sat 12:45 |

So this is not going to predict timeslots but I think for week 1:
Hull City (newly promoted team) v Leicester City (defending champions.) Arsenal v Liverpool AFC Bournemouth v Manchester United (Mourinho.) Everton v Tottenham Chelsea v West Ham United. |

Actually I will refine that list ever so slightly. Week 17 also has Everton v Liverpool so I think Sky can pass that first pick and then choose whichever game BT do not pick.
Therefore I will say that instead of week 17, Sky pick week 5 for the first pick (Chelsea v Liverpool.) |

All what I'm going by, was that during London 2012, the only thing BBC1 shown bar the Olympics, was the news, and the Lottery shows
Quote:
1st Jan is out as full set of games scheduled for Jan 2nd, so BT 5:30 slot will be needed on NYE to allow 4 games for the 31st Dec round which I predict will be shown Thu night, Fri night, Sat 1245 and Sat 530.

Going back to Dec 31st
It doesnot matter about Jan 2 fixtures If team plays Sun 1 st the Monday game will just move to Tues or Weds night Quote:

That's not exactly insurmountable. Just switch one to the Sunday, if TV doesn't take care of it for them.

On the opening weekend, any chance Sky might give BT that one as it is probably the only weekend where Ars-Liv is perhaps a less attractive match given the new manager arrivals and Leicester's first game in the new season as champions?
Also, not sure why some people picked Man City v Sunderland but surely Sky would want to show Guardiola's first match live? |

They can't get all of Guardiola's, Conte's, and Mourinho's first games in charge as well as Arsenal vs Liverpool and the Champions. One of them will have to give.
From Guardiola and Conte I think Guardiola is obviously a bigger name, but Chelsea v West Ham is far more attractive to me as a neutral than City v Sunderland, which would be lucky to be picked in any other week of the season. Chelsea-West Ham is a rivalry, and two clubs with ambition at the start of a new season. We have the two obvious picks of Leicesters game and Arsenal-Liverpool, but if BT have a 4th pick Sky will have to go United with their 3rd and see what BT do with their pick. BT may opt for the storyline of Guardiola, or they may opt for an actual interesting game in Chelsea-West Ham or the equally attractive Everton v Tottenham, but whatever they pick Sky will come back with a 5th pick that they'll be happy to have. |

So the 30 big 6 head to heads are all on separate rounds - an amazing coincidence!
Last season the 20 big 5 head to heads were separate but not sure about the Spurs v big 5 - think there was the odd doubleheader (?) In terms of the 20 big 5 head to heads: - Sky get none on BHs - Sky has 18 1st picks - assume they want 1st pick on R35, R37 and R38 - means they don't get a big 5 head to head on those rounds which then leaves them with a max of 15 (ie 18-3). - However that is mitigated with the best quality big 6 head to heads on R35 and R37 (ie Spurs v Ars and Spurs v Man U). - If Sky want week 34 as well then their max falls to 14. NB. Above is subject to gaining back through squeezing. Conclusion - the above is a bit better for BT than previously - because of Sky going down from 20 to 18 (priority) weekend 1st picks - and Sky not getting big 5 head to heads back through the BH rounds. However I suspect Sky would settle for the overall fixture list - whilst BT get two big 5 head to heads on the midweek rounds they aren't the absolute blockbusters - ie don't feature Man Utd. Overall - fair to both Sky and BT given their packages. |

The burden of proof to suggest that a fixture list is rigged by the TV companies needs to be very high though.

No last season was the same
All 15 games on 15 different weeks (Repeated so 30 from 30) And for it to happen seasons in a row it must be billions to one. But nothing to do with Sky / BT - it's the PL - and the PL may well say they'll do this in the tender document. Reason - to preserve the value of the secondary 1st picks - because as soon as you have doubleheaders it takes quality games away from whoever has the secondary 1st picks (ie BT - package B in new contract). PL may also want to do this so there is a sense that there is a big game happening as often as possible - ie as many rounds as possible have a headline game. |

Even though this list is probably completely wrong, I do feel smug right now.
Anyway looking at the quotas (if this list is correct) Manchester United 8 Arsenal 7 Manchester City 6 Chelsea 5 Liverpool 4 Tottenham 2 You have failed on three teams So back to the drawing board I am afraid |

All I am saying that the TV companies ask for certain things Like one big game a week. It is the same with Tv and tennis Murray always get the later slot for BBC at Wimbledon for example |
