Just to clarify, the games are a new package of rights to Sky but they will be available as part of the existing Sky Sports standard subscription

Good spot brundlebud - Sky have 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th pick in Week 2, so it doesn't matter which way round the 2nd and 5th picks are. I wouldn't be surprised if Sky are allowed to change this later in the season if it suits them to have a second pick in the other pack.

I think they submit in September, details will get revealed by November time.

Despite what Francis says about Champions League football, Sky will almost likely bid for rights. We don't know ITV's motive....

Thread is here to discuss ----> http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1846499”

Thanks Belligerence

That appears to be an old thread - no one has commented since 4 months ago

It'll get some attention when the draw for the qualifiers is made. Man City could face a tricky tie.

This is a little bit of a surprise, given that 4pm GMT will be a 5pm BST kick off... perhaps they mean 4pm BST...

Sorry if this has already been discussed.

How come BT have Watford v Man Utd on a Sunday at 12?

I thought BT only had Saturday 5.30 and midweek matches now? Will them having 2 games that weekend mean they will have a weekend with no games later in the season?

Man United are in the Europa League on the preceding Thursday so can't play Sat 1730

Under the midweek package BT have all 6 midweek games and 8 others to be scheduled on a Saturday. It means that for at least 3 weekends BT will show two weekend matches or 4 if they don't show one on the final weekend.

However if the match they pick features a team who can't play on a Saturday, i.e they have a Europa League tie or on Police advice they move the game to the Sunday 12pm slot.

Question in the future - does any believe the full 380 premiership games will be screened live on tv (just like they do in bundesliga, la liga & serie a)

I know Virgin media want this & have already take this matter to off.com.

Your thoughts please

Hope not. Death of football as we know it. Current system works well enough. Why change?

Been discussed to death in many threads. Try a forum search and read the discourse, particularly following the OFCOM application. You will find it enlightening

Also - is this Sky Sports dedicated pub channel a new thing?

"Furthermore, bet365 will also sponsor all the Premier League games shown on the dedicated Sky Sports channel available in pubs, bars, hotels and clubs across the UK and Republic of Ireland. "

Surprised that the Ford and Sky Sports sponsorship has ended. Even on the Sky EPG the programmes were listed as Ford Super Sunday and Ford Monday Night Football. Nissan Super Sunday and bet365 Monday Night Football will take some getting used to. Dave Jones will present MNF and (I assume) Super Sunday, wonder who Sky will use for FNF and Saturday matches? Marcus Buckland would be good I think.

I know Sky Sports now have the mobile highlights from 5.15pm, but under the new deal do they still have SNF Game of the Day and Match Choice at 8pm and 10pm?

Are Arsenal as an attractive pick when you have Jose, Pep, Jurgen & Conte? All signing new players & in some cases big names? Arsenal haven't signed anyone of note yet or indeed aren't linked with a "top" name. (Pogba, Ibra etc)

Good selections & 11th Sept is Ryder Cup weekend yes? Not a bad game going on previous Ryder Cup weekends!”

Think it's inevitable that the first few months will be dominated by the new managers and seeing how quickly they'd settle. Arsenal will become an attractive pick the minute they are 'in' the title race or hovering around fourth place. Same goes for Spurs.
