German TV have shown how brilliant the PL have been with their TV deal

There are 20 teams
They all get a resonable fair share of money

And we dont get the same 2 clubs on 38 times a season

Sky Germany?! He'll be back to let you know you can get a better deal if you take out a contract free deal with 'Jetzt TV'!

Oh dear, we really need this batch of TV games.

For someone who works in a department of communication you really struggle with the communication bit. They're obviously not fussy who they employ

Thank you so much for the advice, I do find it impossible to work these things out for myself. What would I do without you?

Will that make it go away?

So how many football fans in Germany do you think that would be?

9.99 euro a month for an online provider showing games in HD, DD5.1 sound and with connected apps available on Fire TV, Apple TV, Smart TV and others.

All Premier League, La Liga, Serie A + US Sports live and on demand.

Sounds like a bloody brilliant deal to me.

9.99euros per month is a great deal

Sky Germany/LFC deal is for delayed coverage, there is no need to subscribe to sky germany for live EPL

Wonder what the deal is behind this? Clubs aren't allowed to individually sell their rights so I'm confused as to how LFC have agreed a deal with Sky DE when the live rights were awarded to another company. If there is some sort of sub licensing deal, it's very odd that the League have approved a single-club deal.

Ah, so the LFC deal isn't for live rights? That makes a bit more sense.

Pretty misleading article!!

I apologise - I actually didn't see the word "live" in that report, even though I copied and pasted it

I originally read the story in the Liverpool Echo and in German via Google Translate. When I went back to find it via Google I found this version first and didn't realise they were misreporting it.

To confirm, it is delayed coverage of every competitive fixture.

It looks like most Liverpool fan sites have also got the story wrong

I was on a train before so thought I might have misread the live part of the article. It appears to be wrong because live rights are not with Sky Deutschland for the upcoming rights cycle, i.e. from this weekend.

Quick look at the Sky DE TV guide shows no live Liverpool match on Sunday.

As I've confirmed, the article - which is just a blog - is wrong; it looks like they've misread the various newspaper reports.

I accept responsibility for the confusion caused on this thread as I'd originally read official newspaper accounts and didn't read this version properly before posting here.

It goes to show how one four letter word can change the complexion of a whole article. I feel a bit like Charles Sale right now

A random and (probably naive) thought.
Why do they have to be 10 different (exclusive) timeslots?

Even the most ardent supporter of the premier league wouldn't watch all 10, and all 10 aren't gonna be great games.

So for example have 5/6 exclusive slots and let the rest overlap. If channels want to go head to head or overlap by a half at 6.30 on a Saturday night or 1pm on sunday when its Burnley v Hull and Stoke v Watford then let them?

I wasn't advocating that - if I was advocating anything at all. I meant a new timeslot for the remaining games after TV have made their picks. But, just like at Saturday 3pm, for those to all take place at the same time. It's the model that is used in Germany and Italy but not Spain.

On the point that all 10 aren't going to be great games, well that's the beauty of football! None, or all, might or might not be great games. You could watch 9 dreadful games and miss one classic!
It's impossible to say in advance but with all ten live then it would be more the viewer's fault that he chose the "wrong" game rather than blaming Sky/BT for choosing a rubbish game

!”

So the remaining 4 or 5 all kick off at the same time but are on live tv

That would be what I would advocate if the day ever came that all games were televised.

As I said, it is the model that is used in Italy and Germany.

That way the existing timeslot rights deals preserve some integrity and value. But. it is because of that value to the rightsholders that I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Thanks for your replies – sportcal confirms it’s delayed rights to Liverpool’s PL games.

Have to say I'm surprised at the delay, dont think we have ever gone into nearly the middle of August without the fixtures
