I don't think 22-23 will be too bad, in fact the players will enjoy having a proper summer break !
The England players generally only have to play 3/4 games anyway, so it's not much different, with having 4 international dates scheduled!

There were fewer matches shown on TV in those days, plus different TV contracts. I doubt you'd get only one live match in a round of fixtures, as you did a decade ago.
We're talking about a midweek round

What is Sky's stance regarding showing Premier League games on Sky Sports Mix given that they have already shown two and someone earlier in the thread mentioned that something like 10 games have to be on Mix.

They have already shown two, both in the Saturday Lunchtime slots involving a top side. Do they need to show each slot once on Mix or can they show all ten free games in the same Saturday lunchtime slot? I can imagine that they will be saving one of those required Mix matches for the final day of the season.

They don't have to show any Premier League games on Sky Sports Mix.

Pretty smart from Sky, Saturday lunchtime the worst slot for viewing figures, easy way to boost them.

Just because someone on this thread mentions something doesn't make it fact

It is entirely within Sky's discretion how many, if any, games they show on SS Mix.

I thought the Nations League thing was just replacing friendly fixtures? Surely they aren't looking to add extra international dates given the existing discontent over the number of fixtures are they?
Correct - it's just replacing friendly fixtures.

But the order of games within the two year cycle will change - it'll basically start with the 4 Nations League group games and then the 10 qualifiers for EC/WC will all follow on afterwards.

(I think there will still be approx 2 friendlies as well in each cycle and then of course there is also the Nations League Final Four tournament and also the possibility of play-offs for EC/WC).
