His contract renewal must of been down to Kate Oates. But then he is a popular character and Kate would be daft to remove him, whether we like him or not.

Maybe someone should suggest that he tries his hand at doing another chat show but this time on Syrian TV.

This dampens my view of Kate Oates - does she really believe Cotton has anything to offer the show? or is she been told from above her that Cotton cannot be axed?

Most likely the latter. Jonathan Harvey likely has a say as well

Where has the information in the OP come from? I have a feeling that this headline is produced about every three months as though it were news.

Cotton has a great life- money, success, boyfriend, nice home
are we all simply a little jealous, because lets face it- he has zero talent but is making a fortune if he is on 100k+ a year. |

Ooh, the J-card
I rather wonder if they show Corrie in some parallel universe where he's popular

Great news.
AC is easily the strongest cast member and Sean is fast becoming one of soap's most legendary characters. When are ITV going to announce their STELLA WEEK style celebration of all things Sean? |

Can anyone remember his flop teatime chat show? He thought he was the new Paul O'Grady at that point. If it had worked I bet he'd have left Corrie.

Even if he is popular (I'd describe him as marmite at best), he adds absolutely nothing to the show. The money they're throwing at him would be better spent on a character who is both popular and adds to storylines.
