Negativity on the appreciation page!!!
![]() No seriously!! Multiple voting, people voting hundreds of times each week, spoils the whole concept of the thing to me & makes it not about who is the best dancer or even the most likeable character, but about who has the craziest 'superfans!!

Jay won because he is a beautifully accomplished dancer and his and Aliona's partnership was the most popular across all ages, not due to multi-voting from 'superfans'.

Surely supporters of all couples have the ability to multi vote?
And they do. It's not exclusive to fans of any one pair.

I think if you look bck to just after the final you will find at least one thread I started congratulating the guy & another one saying how all four were winners in their own way!! I don't like multiple voting & I think there should be a cap on how many votes one person is allowed full stop!! The thread asks what don't you like about Strictly, well that is my answer, take it or leave it!!!!!

Jay winning shows that last series did not become about who has the 'craziest super fans'. He is incredibly likeable and an amazing dancer so I don't see any problem with the series outcome as regards the voting system.
I think it's easy to get the impression on a fan forum like this that multi-voting influences the outcome more than it actually does. Of course it counts but noone gets through the latter stages and wins the final without being popular with the millions of casual Strictly viewers as well. People who will phone once or use the three online votes. |

All I'm saying is I know a LOT of Strictly watchers, particularly older ones who now see no point in bothering to vote knowing that other people are tapping away on a keyboard 150 times to make sure their favourite gets through whether they have danced well or not!! It does happen and the person I had said spat with admitted it on this forum!! |

That may be true & I agree Jay was an extremely likeable lad who probably had the series won from the point of his week 3 jive!!

The only final where I was surprised at the result was 2013 and the person I wanted to win did not. Every other final I think the favourite going in has won. So no the people voting 200 odd times probably doesn't make a difference.
Jay had a lot of things going for him including being able to dance to a fairly high standard. But also that a male had not won for a couple of years. I don' think the producers like one sex dominating the wins. |

Yeah everyone multi votes I don't buy the noble act, In my opinion Jay and Aliona won because of their rare partnership it was special. I also know masses of people who love strictly and don't give a toss about someone multivoting because at the end of the day they just enjoy the performances nothing else.

By and large older people don't vote and certainly not multiple times ! Why you immediately saw this as an attack on Jay and Aliona I can't imagine - everyone watching the last series of Strictly knew they would win from their Jive week on and many people thought deservedly so - you only have to look at the continued support for them on this Forum to see how popular they were and still are. ...and at the end of the day Strictly is a popularity contest much like other reality programmes where the public vote. |

Would also like to see the dances properly without the camera appearing to be attached to a waltzer (fairground not dancing!). Missed heel leads and incorrect footwork is commented on by the judges but how does a viewer know when the camera angles are so random? Add dry ice to the mix and it's impossible! This may be old fashioned but I find props distracting. I want to see the couples dance not plastic horses and animated crockery. |

![]() I answered a post on a thread asking what don't you like about Strictly!! It was everyone else who for reasons best known to themselves chose to apply it to Jay!! As I said in my earlier post the spat I had during Strictly was actually with an Anita fan for the record, not a Jay fan!! I stand by my original comment & see absolutely nothing wrong with it or the way I worded it!! The three finalists were all worthy of their place & any one of the three would have been a worthy winner imo!! http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2123994 |

Forgot about the props, they are rubbish and do not add anything to the dance. |

I think the tour results made it pretty clear that Jay and Aliona were way ahead in the popularity stakes so even if people were multi-voting it wouldn't have made a great deal of difference. Weren't Jay and Anita the only ones to win the tour shows? |

![]() http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2119751 ![]() As far as voting is concerned, it's much fairer now - multi voting or not - than the early years when it was for Children in Need and the lines were opened immediately a celeb was eliminated so you could vote all week meaning for most of the time you were either voting in advance or retrospect. The multi voting that may occur now is a mere spit compared to what it was then! It has to be said, as well the tag line is 'vote for your favourite' which doesn't necessarily mean who you think is the 'best' dancer. |

The final should be a celebration of the show as whole, not an opportunity for them to snark at the viewers and tell them how wrong they are. No one makes the final without being good or popular or both. They've had their pick about who advances with the dance off. If they've any issues about that perhaps they should have a word with themselves not take it out on us and spoil the whole feel of the show. |
