Where did I claim to be bringing the truth. I was pointing out factual inaccuracies and unsubstantiated statements in your post.
. I said she was exaggerating the illness and you said no, I said she was trying to mislead the public and you said no. How do you know that I am wrong??.
You believe your celebrity because you are biased. I still stand by that " trying to fool the public" statement. Believe what you want and I will believe what I want. Please also read the title of this thread.

I will get the sack from work very soon. Spending so much time on these threads.

Could you quote me as saying that?
As far as I'm aware, you said: "Producers made them tweet, I don't know whether I will be alive until Saturday."
I stated that no such tweet existed and suggested that you may have been exaggerating this tweet.

I said she was trying to mislead the public and you said no. How do you know that I am wrong??.
Can you quote me as saying that?
I asked you what evidence you had of them trying to intentionally mislead the public.

You're absolutely entitled to your opinions and I guess this thread is a more than appropriate place to write them.

I didn't suggest your opinions were wrong, I pointed out factual inaccuracies and unsubstantiated statements.

May I just, before we get a visit from DS Mod Towers, point out that we are on the downhill stretch to series 14. More than one celeb - and indeed, pro - has checked off the 'injury porn/a bit poorly' storyline box on the Strictly Bingo Card. Comments about the same do not have to automatically be taken to be specific about a particular celeb (or pro) and can cover 13 series of pretty similar storylining. Not every comment just relates to the series 13 alumni

I realise (and we had a demonstration of this in the first page of the thread) that we shouldn't immediately assume criticism is aimed at a particular contestant.
However, in fairness, the particular post which I have been responding to (number 112) was clearly directly referring to a member of the series 13 alumni!

I have had this conversation so many times. For the last time, from an inside source the rumour, which i stated in november that there is something going between G&G and they will go public after the end of the show, because she doesn't want to sabotage her chances of winning. I wrote this in november and got abused and now it's true.
When you say, factual inaccuracies, you mean I am wrong. Just because a celebrity makes a statement, doesn't make it a fact. Who knows the truth??.

It's just that it seems to be reaching the point where every post has to include a disclaimer - and it's getting a tad wearing

Without any information about this source at all or indeed any corroborating sources, for me this doesn't provide evidence that they tried to intentionally fool the public. But I respect the fact that you've based your opinions on this 'source' and see no point in continuing to argue the toss over it.

When you say, factual inaccuracies, you mean I am wrong. Just because a celebrity makes a statement, doesn't make it a fact. Who knows the truth??.
No, when I say factual inaccuracies I mean things that are factually inaccurate:
You mentioned a tweet saying "I don't know whether I'll be alive until Saturday", I pointed out the fact that no such tweet existed.
You said that she had a sore throat, I was pointing out the fact that pharyngitis is not just a sore throat.

Once again, I did not claim to be bringing the "truth", I was primarily pointing out factual errors.

The Saturday part was exaggerated, the same way as the celebrity.

As for factual inaccuracies about the illness. I still think it was a sore throat.
As I said before, just because a celebrity makes a statement, doesn't make it fact.
The way she was dancing, talking and shouting after getting through, no way was that illness, serious. Fact is truth in my books and celebrities statements don't add up to truth in my opinion.

So you have never made a bad comment about anybody, based on someone else's opinion??.

Just on that point pharyngitis is a sore throat, can be a symptom of bacterial or viral infection and obviously varies in severity. It's not something I'd just dismiss, mine turned out to be viral and a symptom of glandular fever which affected me for months. But in Georgia's case, while she was said to have felt very ill for a couple of days, after antibiotics she recovered quickly so it really wasnt that big a deal, the VT did blow it out of proportion. Others probably had the same and we never heard about it.

Brian didn't say it wasn't a sore throat. He said it wasn't just a sore throat.

It was a big deal to her because she missed out on 3 days of training.

Tell me about it. I don't even know why I bother reading the main forum let alone posting in it

Again just on that point the definition of pharyngitis is 'just' a sore throat (varying in severity). It's one symptom of a bacterial or viral infection. So if she was treated with antibiotics then Georgia had a bacterial infection with pharyngitis as one symptom and possibly a high temp and other symptoms as well.

Then how is just a sore throat? If you get other symptoms then surely it's not just a sore throat.

However, I do agree the VT's, for any celeb, being too much, when someone is unwell.

Isn't it ironic that tetchy bickering has brought down the value of the Strictly "Depreciation" thread.

She did not have a sore throat, she had pharyngitis. Symptoms of which include nausea, severe fatigue and fever. Ask anyone who has had pharyngitis and they will confirm to you that it is not just a sore throat.
Just clearing up that point. Pharyngitis is not an illness in itself, it's one symptom, a sore throat that often appears alongside other symptoms when someone has an infection.

Its inflammation of the pharynx (caused by bacterial or viral infection) and the most common cause of a sore throat. It's usually accompanied by fever and generally feeling rotten for a while, much like tonsillitis. Can we not all just agree that she was poorly for a bit and leave it there?
