Well, that's made me smile. Who said nostalgia ain't what it used to be? Great stuff.

Seems like they just copied issue one and pasted capaldi over baker.

I rather think that copying issue one of DWW is exactly the point...

It's fab though. Gave me a real buzz of nostalgia that did!
Doctor Who Weekly was such an exciting publication! There'd not been anything like it before. Cracking comic strips (remember that one with the Auton Action Men? Always thought that would be brilliant on the telly, and these days they could actually pull it off), JJB's synopses of the black and white stories, the reprints of the Dalek strips from the 60s. All marvellous stuff.
DWW dropped through my letterbox every week (and later, every month) and played a major role in converting me from a fan to a FAN. Which I still am to this day.

Reminds me of the countless boxes of DWM my dad used to own that I would read as a child. The logo alone is enough to get me all nostalgic. I love how naturally Capaldi fits into the role of the Doctor.

I suppose it wont be the same pages as the debut issue.

9.99 for this issue??? Hmmmm. Maybe I should just raid my bookcase shelf and read that issue one.

It's a double sized issue, hence the double price!
I'm so pleased for them that they achieved this milestone. Like many people here I'm sure, I have every single issue of Doctor Who Weekly/Monthly/Magazine, all bought when they were first issued. It's the only magazine that I still collect.
The magazine did so much to help to keep the flame alive during the "dark days", when interest in the series must have been at an all-time low, but against all the odds it still survived, which is a great example of how resilient and loyal DW's fanbase actually is, no matter how much we may moan about things sometimes!
The magazine isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for, and I've always thought that its content is of the highest quality.
I won't be around when they get to issue 1000 (if I am I'll be 105!) but I hope they make that milestone too!

DWM Editor Tom Spilsbury takes us through the making of that wonderful cover shoot with Peter Capaldi.

Lots of lovely pics here>

I decided to treat myself to the 500th issue - and I'm glad I did. It's full of great articles, pictures and nostaga. The pack is definately worth the £10 I spent on it.

I agree, although I would have bought it anyway!

Ive heard you belly aching many times on the forum.

10 quid for the issue was very expensive. They should have put issue 1 in as a bonus unlike you who will do what they want you to do.

Makes a change from Dave moaning about repeats of Only Fools and Horses.

What? Since when? I thought those were 20p - and I can remember them being 10p.
