Hi folks,

I'm not au courant with Corrie these days but I was wondering if Todd is formally training to become a florist or if he's just playing around with Clitoria ternatea under Tracy's tutelage?

Serious question.

I don't know if it's been mentioned or not KK as I have a tendency to try my best to blot out all things Tracy if I can manage it!!

The florist business is yet another way they could have at least tried to redeem the character by giving her something to get her teeth into, something she knows about, make a success at something.... but no of course not, why do that when she can now use the business as well for her mind numbing, one dimensional, spiteful claptrap storylines!!

On the plus side I do think they are finally doing a decent job in developing Todd's character, showing his old personality coming through the hard faced exterior he came back from London with!! One of Corrie's best characters at the moment for me!!

Todd used to work at a solicitors when he was in London. he is clearly an intelligent bloke and no way would he still be working at the florists.

I can feel DS members looking for the yawn emoji as I type this, but I'd be interested in a subplot that sees Todd take a vocational qualification in floristry. It might sound like the most boring proposition ever to hit the screens, but it'd be a darn sight more interesting than Tracy on another of her 'mind numbing, one dimensional, spiteful claptrap storylines' (notdebbiedingle, 2016). He could even work as a florist for a couple of years then decide to study at a higher level, perhaps taking a degree.

I know that Todd has always been pitched as an 'intelligent' character but his academic leanings have never really been explored. He worked in 'law' in London but Eileen always suggested that he was only ever working in admin within a law firm. While he's obviously only at a basic level at the moment, this could open up many opportunities. Manchester University does a degree in Plant Science. What if Todd decided to do this? He could have a specific interest in plants for the floristry industry?

There would be stories along the way, open up other opportunities for the character and also show a soap character going to university.

As Johnny said, he is too good to be working in there.

And I don't think you really need training in Coronation Street. This is the place where you can work washing cars at Kev's garage, and two weeks later become a fully qualified mechanic and know the ins and outs of a car.

Yes,it's good to see him being both humorous and caring,of late. Let's hope that there is a deliberate strategy here. I don't want him reverting to the needlessly spiteful character he'd been for the previous couple of years.
