This. They are all too worried about their own involvement and getting into trouble. I thought sharon was going to step up to the mark especially as Bobby attacked Denny before but even she was still trying to protect the secret.
Disgusted by Jacks comment - as a former police officer he would know that the evidence is only circumstantial at best.
Disappointed Mick didn't back Stacey up - he might be ian's friend but in these circumstances I would have expected him to say something. And I don't know who linda Carter was replaced with, but the real linda would never have listened to denny say he found out bobby was a killer at Christmas and then not question him further!
Great to see keeble back but was thought the interview was weird. Even if they didn't or don't want to believe bobby they didn't even question him properly and were just dismissive of his claims over lucy even though a) he had just battered Jane and b) knew Lucy wasn't killed on the common. They started to ask how she ended up there and then didn't pursue it!
I'm guessing that when Lauren comes back she'll stand up and tell the square what she knows. I'm also guessing that she'll go back to the police station and tell them that she did try to tell that detective before but he didn't want to know. And unfortunately I think stacey and martin's marriage is about to be tested as she supports max and he supports Ian.

]. And no one believed his public admission [bar Stacey]...?!

but I don't think that the court would take that into account. I think they would see the amount of police time wasted and the cost to the tax payer. They would also consider that he allowed an innocent man to be sent to jail. As for the square, yes some will sympathise with Ian because they will need to write in some support to keep him in the square but this in itself is annoying as there was no sympathy for max - despite the fact he'd been there for years they were happy to believe he was a murderer - and yet there will be understanding and forgiveness for those who are actually guilty.
