Did Nick and Carla actually get married?
Hubby reckons they didn't as the vicar never pronounced them man and wife, unless we're to assume that they skipped that bit.

Yes, that means they will have to have a quick Shag to consummate the marriage before she leaves

![]() In order for a marriage to be legal you must make two legal declarations, by repeating the words after the Superintendent. The first is a declaration that you are free to marry. The second includes the words by which you accept each other as husband and wife. There are choices as follows: Traditional "I do solemnly declare that I know not of any lawful impediment why I..........may not be joined in matrimony to............" "I call upon these persons here present to witness that I........do take thee........to be my lawful wedded wife/husband" Modern "I declare that I know of no legal reason why I............may not be joined in marriage to........." "I.........take you/thee...........to be my wedded wife/husband" Short (By replying "I am" to the question) Are you........free lawfully.......to marry......? "I am" "I......... take you/thee..........to be my wedded wife/husband" |

Don't think Ben is leaving, I guess Nick could probably afford for a quickie divorce.
I expect by the end of the year, for him to at least have half the Bistro back, and Him and Leanne back as a couple |

I guess Nick will go into hiding the next couple of weeks and the Callum stuff takes over. Wonder if. Carla leaves pregnant but doesn't tell him as he probably wouldn't believe her. Seems strange to me also that

I assume it was done. We just didn't see it. It jumped to the speeches.
Yea he has to get at least some of the Bistro back. Still doesn't feel right Robert owning it. So strange Leanne not being about. I'd be surprised if it wasn't consumed long ago - or does a deed have to take place after the ceremony? Were all those shotgun weddings in he 60s purely to legitimise the child? Although they were in the days before quickie divorces when you had to prove adultery in marriage in order to get one.

A marriage can only be consummated after the ceremony hence the terminology is 'consummate a marriage'. Having sex out of wedlock does not count. You can't back date or retrospectively consummate it.
