I think him confessing to Lucy's murder with lead to his exit as i don't see how now the truth is about to come out he'll escape prison.

He'll probably leave and return in about 5 years with another new head, thoughts people?

I'm with you but ian's in it for the long haul. I can see bobby being sent off for psychiatric reports. He'll probably be declared as mentally unfit in some way so he won't actually stand trial. Then he'll get treatment and come back at some point. I actually want him to get sent down but I'm sure it isn't going to be that straightforward.

I know Bobby is only meant to be twelve but that is still old enough to know right from wrong and the basic/some of the potential consequences of his actions. Does anybody else find it really strange/annoying the way he keeps asking "Have I done something wrong?", "Am I in trouble?", "You are talking about me, aren't you?"

Sharon won't want him to blab because then the cover up will start to unravel and it could be revealed that Philth paid of the foreman of the jury.

How would the bribery come out? The jury could have come to the Max guilty verdict of their own volition. The foreman isn't likely to step forward and admit he took the bribe.

EVERYTHING comes out sooner or later on EastEnders and this will too. No-one ever gets away with anything. No-one ever gets to keep a secret.

Yes, but nobody ever thinks it will get out, and the reason for Phil's fear is that the case is open for investigation again... but that doesn't mean they're going to start questioning the jury's motivation, the evidence was very compelling, even the defendant's family thought he did it.

I've said since live that DTC has misread audience. I do believe he thought the viewers would be on Jane and then Ian side. He didn't like reaction at time. (Lucy thread records his reaction to negative response). Since then he has doggedly spent time trying to convince audience by having so many cast in cover up that they (and him) are right. Having Sharon / Kathy et al just accept it is part of the game plan. Trouble is for a far portion of audience rather than convince them the storyline is right it has damaged the characterisation of those dragged in.This stuff on screen should have played out last May/June. Max should never have been dragged into it.

Spot on. He misjudged the audience reaction completely. Even now we're meant to believe that Sharon is desperate to save him so that he can get out there and have another shot at killing Denny Darling.

I don't think anyone at the BBC misjudged the audience at all. There was a similar reaction to Danielle dying just as Ronnie found out who she was. The reaction to that was hysterical, I've seen no evidence the audience are out for Jane's blood. In fact the only place where people seem to hate her character is here and I've come to realize that DS seems to be quite out of sync with the general publics opinion on many subjects.

Someone is going to take all the blame. My guess is Jane since she's in deepest anyway, but she'll avoid serious punishment because she'll be played as half vegetable till everyone has forgotten.

I agree. Elliot is a great actor despite only being a kid! Kids with his talent should not be recast As child actors with his skills are hard to come by. Have him sent to anger management and young Offenders and have him visited every so often until he returns.

There is no credible way he can return.

Yeah there is. For a start he is Ian's son. So Bobby will always have a place on the show for as long as Ian is in it.

Other characters have carried out atrocious crimes and found their way back to the square. We still have a number of murderers and killers on the square now so it is feasible bobby could come back at a later date. Personally, I would rather bobby, Jane and Ian all very sent down and the square can try and move on from what has happened. But at some point we will no doubt have Ian and Jane and max all drinking in the vic at the same time (though not together!) . In real life of such an event occurred, Ian and Jane would move away for a fresh start as they wouldn't be able to stay where everyone knew what they had done. But ee will probably throw them a street party abs have all the residents tell them that it's all OK.
