Once again Sky have ignored League Two. The League One picks for 8th/9th October are particularly strange

That's surely because there are too many Conference games, not that there aren't enough League Two games. BT can show loads of Conference games because they have hours to fill, if Sky showed more League Two games they'd either have to be played opposite other live games or in weird timeslots where nobody would watch them, so you don't get a single extra viewer and inconvenience fans for no reason.
Do Sky really need to broadcast as many as 92 Championship games before you get to the Play-Offs? When you contrast that to the 20 regular season games they show from both Leagues One and Two combined, the disparity is ridiculous. True, BT Sport show 30 games per season from the National League - but that includes the five Play-Off games (the 15 televised Football League Play-Off games are excluded from the EFL totals above). During the regular season, BT Sport will be showing roughly two National League games per month, with them usually showing a couple in quick succession during international windows and Bank Holiday weekends. Having broken down these numbers, I feel BT Sport are getting the balance just about right - they are not overkilling their live coverage of the National League, but at the same time their coverage appears nowhere near as scant as the 10-12 (or less) games per season you get from Leagues One and Two individually before you get to the Play-Offs. Indeed, would it really hurt if Sky Sports slightly reduced the massive amount of Championship fixtures they broadcast, maybe down to 80 in the regular season, in order to boost the amount of regular season League One games they show to 20 and League Two matches to 12? Both divisions are of a high standard for their level on the pyramid, particularly the former, despite the huge gulf in TV revenues between the second tier and the lower leagues (promotion from League One is reputedly worth £6.5 million per club in terms of TV money alone) which I worry is making the gap between the second and third tiers that much harder to bridge. And really, would a game like MK Dons v Millwall or Charlton v Northampton (to pick two taking place tomorrow) be that less appealing to the general sports-TV viewing public than tonight's Brighton v Nottingham Forest match? I'm not convinced they would. |

I was looking forward to the 'EFL Goals' show, put it on series link. But watching the first episode it seems despite the name it is actually the 'Championship Goals' show with several minutes of waffle to pad it out. No League 1 or 2 goals at all so that's the series link deleted.

EFL Cup round 3 draw for TV has a few choices
Northampton v Man Utd Derby v Liverpool Forest v Arsenal I expect that we'll possibly see Leicester v Chelsea picked though, which is maybe a bit more likely than Swansea v Man City. Spurs v Gillingham won't be picked as Spurs are at home. Personally I'd pick the Northampton and Forest games I think, but close between the Forest and Derby games. Leicester v Chelsea and Swansea v Man City I'd leave alone for general live PL coverage rather than in this competition (for now). |

One of Liverpool or Arsenal in addition to Man Utd.

Only Man Utd has to be played on the Wednesday so Sky have kept their options open by having Chelsea v Liverpool on the Friday and not picking Hull v Arsenal.

I think Manu and Liverpool will be picked. The latter more likely to pick first team rather than arsenal.

But more chance of an upset at Forest v Arsenal? That said, I went to Hillsborough last season and it didn't feel much like an upset!

Forest Arsenal
Northampton United That's my choice Liverpool doubtful as they've been shown this round.. Other possibilities are the Leicester Chelsea game and Swansea Man City game |

Would be a good FA Cup draw with 5 excellent TV ties - the big 5 all away.
But I agree with most of the above posts - almost definitely Man Utd and then probably just Arsenal over Liverpool (as Liverpool picked this round) - but could easily go either way. |

As MLT11 says it really is a cracking draw.
Think Man Utd will definitely be on and as discussed has to be on the Wed Toss up then between Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. Personally I would go with Arsenal as Liverpool shown this round. |

Liverpool game will definitely be shown live, it's the law. Sky choose them because of all the plastic supporters aka viewing figures even when they're at home to L1 opposition regardless of the attractiveness of other ties.
To be fair Derby v Liverpool is an attractive game, on paper, so it'll get the pick ahead of Forest v Arsenal - Liverpool did put a strong side out the other night, Arsenal probably won't do. Leicester v Chelsea is likely to be largely second string players as well, they're more bothered about the Champs League than the EFL Cup. |

Personally I think it's daft as they zip through the goals so quickly and don;t show any other incidents in the matches. Perhaps if they wasted less time on the Championship show with pundits waffling on, they could wrap up the Championship in 30 minutes and give leagues 1 and 2 equal tv time? |

Do you mean the Saturday night show at 9pm? If so, the League 1 and 2 goals are now shown as a separate programme at 10pm called "Goal Rush".
