Truthfully I'm more confident than last season, but nervous knowing it's a derby and anything can happen even with where the 2 teams are. Hopefully we can win though (or at worst draw). If we have as many chances as we usually seem to then I reckon we'll win, but our problem usually (despite our start) is getting enough on target, let alone in the back of the net. We'll see though.

It also means that Huddersfield have now been picked twice at home, so have fulfilled the 2 home league games criteria,.
But strangely Wigan are the ONLY team to have not been picked at home yet ??

Two Sky favourites there

Wigan have only ever been shown due to what the quotas says they have to be shown.

I think it's safe to say that it will be Liverpool v Spurs on the Tuesday and Man Utd v Man City on the Wednesday.

Chelsea host Man Utd on the Sunday before the fifth round, so both Man Utd v Man City and West Ham v Chelsea will have to be played on the Sunday. That said, I suppose as Man City also play on the Sunday there is a case for playing the Manchester Derby on the Tuesday

Probably higher viewing figures for Liverpool v Spurs — not that viewing figures are the be all and end all for a subscription service like Sky — and two good teams. Chelsea and West Ham's games during the following weekend will both be live on Sky, while Chelsea's match in the preceding weekend will also be shown. Tottenham's game before these League Cup fixtures will be shown live too, but Liverpool are on BT for two weeks in a row, so Sky may look at this as a good opportunity to show them live and provide a more rounded offering. Or maybe this is reading too much into it.

No, that is a very good point.

Agreed, especially in view of how the fixtures for the preceding weekend fall

Don't you mean "Man Utd v Man City and West Ham v Chelsea will have to be played on the Wednesday"?

Also, give me a very good case for the Manchester derby to be played on the Tuesday. Because I can't see one.

Oops, yes Wednesday. Sorry, what I meant was that if Sky were desperate to show West Ham v Chelsea then you could argue that the Manchester Derby could be played on the Tuesday as both teams play on the Sunday so it wouldn't disadvantage either team. That said, I doubt Sky would want to do that as it would make it much more likely that Pep and Jose would make whole sale changes.

Disgrace. The general public want to see Arsenal v Reading and Leeds v Norwich. They will be picked.

No surprise there !

There were as many as 6 additional ties shown internationally on channels like BeIn sports over the last two days - hopefully it will be a similar scenario for the next round and the Leeds game will be one of them

It seems odd it's not scheduled on the Sunday. I would not be surprised if it's deliberate attempt the take the wind out of BT's sails and clash with their big derby on purpose. They might even schedule it as free on Sky Sports Mix just to rub it in further.
Wondered if this had been mentioned on here... (Villa/Newcastle up against Arsenal/Chelsea)
I find this decision by Sky utterly baffling.

I know the one pro argument (put something up against BT)
But there are so many reasons not to do it. Sunday has to be one of the worst Sundays on sky in recent years. But who cares about the viewers when we have a petty battle to try and win.

Agree with you there.
Id of liked to have seen the Villa Newcastle game but no way am i going to choose that over what BT have at the same time. The pettiness has to stop really.

Why the different KO times?

Police/transport/council, getting 75,000 plus to OT is hard without also hitting rush hour so as much time as possible before kick off is preferred. I'm happy to be corrected but I think all midweek domestic games at OT would be an 8pm KO

Why the different KO times?
Because Unlike with Monday Night Football
The CLUB gets to decide the kick off time and not Sky

Man Utd tend to only KO at 7.45pm at Old Trafford when they are obliged to do so? (e.g. Champions League)

Bolton I think also generally always kick off at 8pm when at home.

The last few posts have it spot on. Manchester United's preferred evening time kick off at Old Trafford is 8pm (when not dictated by TV rightsholders).

The club reverted to 7.45pm a couple of seasons ago, but returned to 8pm after just one season.

I am less aware of the ins and outs at Anfield. Funnily I thought they also preferred 8pm.
