They tend to go against showing both East Anglian Derby matches unless something is riding on the second. I assume Wimbledon v Milton Keynes will be the same.
We had a big home match against Middleborough moved from Saturday to Friday night. On Saturday it would have been guaranteed 21 - 22k attendance, under 18k on a Friday night. As its almost impossible to attend unless you live in the town or around the town. Do we know how sky will be scheduling them this season?? Early Saturday is fine, late Saturday is fine, Sunday bit problematic but anything is better than a bloody Thursday, Friday night!! |

Re the Capital One Cup, it's usually announced the day before the fixtures.
In terms of Sky scheduling, with them now having PL lunchtime games, expect the FL games on a Saturday to move to a Saturday evening (which will rule some games out in that slot, eg Huddersfield v Leeds or maybe something like Ipswich v Norwich). Thursday nights won't happen too often I imagine (rarely does) but there'll be quite a lot of Friday night matches I reckon, with a handful of Sunday lunchtime (maybe 1.15ish) and Monday night games. |

As an Ipswich season Ticket holder I hope they show neither, Getting moved due to sky is so annoying.

Anyone know the date for the Capital One Cup first round draw at all? They normally do it before the fixtures are released.
Capital One have ended the deal |

Sky PL have Saturday and also
Either 10 games on a Friday OR 18 on a Monday So EFL will be mainly Saturday at 520 Sometimes Sun lunch if BT have a game or Sky have no PL Either Fri or Mon night Occasionally Thurs as well |

Sometimes Sun lunch if BT have a game or Sky have no PL Either Fri or Mon night Occasionally Thurs as well I assume 5.20 is a guess based on last time they showed matches on a Saturday teatime, but I've not seen that confirmed anywhere. It's just as likely to be 5.30 given that if it was 5.20 there'd presumably be an awkward 45 minute gap before Game Of The Day at 8pm. And they don't schedule them to start before the Premier League game on BT, because no viewer chooses a match because it starts earlier than the other. |

A very authentic looking leak of the Championship fixtures has surfaced online. Almost certainly bollocks of course but as I say, they've gone to a lot of trouble to make it look authentic.
![]() Anyway , the opening day fixtures are: Birmingham v Wednesday Blackburn v Bristol C Brentford v Forest Derby v Cardiff Huddersfield v Villa Leeds v QPR Norwich v Fulham Preston v Brighton Crybabies Reading v Barnsley Rotherham v Burton Wigan v Newcastle Wolves v Ipswich

On the League Cup not really sure it needs a sponsor.

If people see a game starting at 12.30 whilst flicking through the channels, then unless they specifically want to watch the other game at 12.45 (eg if you support one of the teams involved) then you're more likely to stick with the game that's already underway that you can already watch. |

You'd be surprised. Why do you think FL games kicked off at 12.30pm rather than 12.45pm when Sky lost Saturday lunchtime games? Because it means Sky's game starts first. Same with when BT/ESPN/Setanta/whoever had PL games kicking off at 5.30pm, the FL games would kick off at 5.20pm. Can easily see the same thing happening next season with FL games kicking off at 5.20pm to try to snare viewers from the 5.30pm PL game on BT.
If people see a game starting at 12.30 whilst flicking through the channels, then unless they specifically want to watch the other game at 12.45 (eg if you support one of the teams involved) then you're more likely to stick with the game that's already underway that you can already watch. And as for the 12.15, and now 12.30 kick-offs, it's likely to have as much to do with the need to not have to find a half hour filler for 12-12.30, or to avoid 45 minutes of build-up. I can't imagine anyone deciding not to watch Liverpool vs Manchester United because Rotherham vs Bristol City has already started. |

This year, the live match TV selections for opening weekend will be released with the fixtures on 22nd June at 9.00am. The following weekend’s selections will then be made in the following days.

I think that happened a couple of years ago when they had the 125th anniversary and the founding league clubs played each other where possible. I might be wrong though.

Regarding the Football League Trophy, we are not going to get any more games shown than we have other seasons.
I don't think it's certain The Acedemies will do well enough to win the game, Be interesting to see how many of the Acedemies will fancy, playing on a quagmire of a ground say in Accrington in the middle of winter, the L1/L2 teams will be more determined to win. |

Looks like Sky showing 3 live FL games on the opening FL weekend (unless they announce any further games later):
"We will confirm details of our first three televised matches alongside the main fixtures announcement at 9am." http://www.skysports.com/football/ne...to-be-released |

Surprised to see only 3 games on the opening weekend, and especially none on the Saturday.
I Quite like the EFL logo Wonder if something like Bolton v Sheffield United could be slotted in and played on the Saturday |

Some West Midlands Derbies:
Birmingham City v Wolves (Saturday 20th August) Aston Villa v Wolves (Saturday 15th October) Birmingham v Aston Villa (Saturday 29th October) Wolves v Aston Villa (Saturday 14th January) Wolves v Birmingham City (Saturday 25th February) Aston Villa v Birmingham (Saturday 22nd April) Now before anyone cries out that I am biased or anything like that, I generally believe derbies should be on the TV from the championship as much as possible. Ipswich Town v Norwich City (Saturday 20th August) Norwich City v Ipswich Town (Saturday 25th February) Both the Birmingham City v Wolves and Ipswich Town v Norwich City games are on the same weekend. |

Wonder if Sky is going to pick another game for Sun 2.15pm.
The 4.30pm kick-off time suggests that might be their plan. |

mlt11 - do you think they're trying to avoid clashing with the Community Shield.

Surely Sky would want to give the Community Shield some competition, If I was Sky I would.
Would not be surprised if Bolton v Sheff Utd was included, You would think Sky would have wanted a game on the Saturday |
