EastEnders has held up well against Britain's Got Talent this week.

On Monday, it attracted 5.7 million.

Last night, it attracted 5.9 million, whilst BGT could only manage 6.9 million. This is also up 800,000 Year on Year.

Usually, Britain's Got Talent crushes it, so a big well done to EastEnders.

I hadn't realized it was BGT this week and had wondered why the viewing figures weren't higher...silly me. It's been a fabulous week so far, I'm really enjoying it.

I usually record BGT (it's long and I can skip the ads) and watch EE live.

I've been enjoying the past 3 weeks (Peggy + Bobby storyline) but it's a shame that there are clashes.

Very good that EE is holding up. This week has been unmissable. Long term storylines always pay off. You just need a decent attention span to stick it out.

Coronation Street wasn't up against the biggest show on TV.

Corrie is so poor atm and it shows. Last year it had 8m this year barely scraping 7m.

Each to their own I prefer to watch a bit of entertainment and have a laugh than be subjected to misery and depression, although I appreciate that Eastenders is on good form at the moment and hope that you guys are enjoying it

Corrie:

Sunday - 7 million
Monday - 6.7 million
Tuesday - Unknown
Wednesday - 8 million
Thursday - 7.8 million

Corrie has done well to beat the mighty BGT this year.

EastEnders:

Monday - 5.7 million
Tuesday - 5.9 million (Denting BGT, which is fabulous for EE on this particular week)

EastEnders remains the most watched episode of the year so far, with Mick and Linda's wedding on New Year's Day attracting 8.3 million viewers.

If the government get their way the BBC won't be able to compete for ratings with ITV anymore.
