Kara for me but I'm also in the Rachel was robbed camp.
Jay was the best male dancer IMO but I did love Harry a lot and he had more of a journey whereas Jay was pretty much sublime from the start.

I would have loved a Rachel win, too, but it wasn't to be - although Tom Chambers should have been barred from winning for subjecting us to his paso face alone!
Interesting that there was a real turnaround on the tour, with Rachel getting the lion's share of the wins. Tom only managed one, I believe.
So on actual winners, I would have to say female Kara and male Jay.

Kara overall, with Tom/Jay/Harry pretty much tied for best male dancer.
Jill was great too, and Alesha was a great performer even if her technique was a bit messy at times.

Abbey was surprisingly good, but Kara all the way.
Jill and Alesha were very decent too, but they didn't draw me in to the dance in the same way as Kara and occasionally Abbey. Can't remember other good winners that won on the same level as Kara.
Obv Natalie Gumede, Pixie, Ricky Whittle, Denise V.O were some of the bestd dancers that never won.

For me Louis Smith was definitely the best dancer all of the series. He could do things that not even the professionals could do and made it more interesting. I think some of the professionals looked miffed as well!
What I will say though is I do think Jay's Jive was one of the best dances of any series.
I thought Tom Chambers was overrated and Rachel Stevens should have won that year.

When he joined that pro routine in the 2014 semi final I didn't actually recognise him at first and thought he was just a random pro
