All secrets come out eventually and as Phil can't remember sleeping with Denise and she hasn't told anyone she'll end up having a baby (probably only finding out she's pregnant when she goes into labour) and then there will be a problem with the baby and they'll need a donor hence Phil being revealed as the father. And it will all happen on the day that he renews his wedding vows with sharon.

I think that storyline with Libby was to show how heavily affected Denise was at the departure of JJ. Denise was looking forward to being a mum again and looking after a little boy. And when she had that taken away from her, it sent her on a spiral. And by having her daughter become pregnant and having an abortion, Denise felt she was being robbed of looking after yet another child.
