Let's not forget that Ben knows that Nico pushed Will off the hospital roof. Not sure if they believe that that killed Will or if they now know it was Lynsey, but still Ben knows that Nico not only had it in her to push someone off a roof, but also kill a known gangster and even her grandfather sent Ben a video warning him of Nico and asking him to protect Sienna from her.
So knowing all that, no, it doesn't make sense that Ben's reaction is to take the blame himself, allowing Nico to continue unchallenged.
On top of that, why did Ben even confess? Maybe he should have waited to see where the police investigation went. He would of course be a suspect, however I doubt Nico would have been, as Trevor was a known gangster, he would have made many enemies, so if Ben was going to cover for Nico, why not wait and see if he NEEDED to jump in front of that bullet?

I think he'd rather see her as a disciple than something for his to do list. He seems to have a problem with promiscuity, he's immoral, too, has a God complex, and destroying people is his pastime.

True, but I hope they didn't kill Trevor off just so Warren could come back. I hope Trevor left because Greg Wood wanted to leave. Still, it would be nice to see Warren again, I did like him in his previous stint.

I hope Nico goes soon too, can't stand her. It was quite weird really last night, going from Nico stabbing Trevor to EastEnders where there was the fallout of Bobby attacking Jane.

I hope Nico gets locked up with the key thrown away.
I've kind of got the feeling that when Nico does leave the show, either by being locked up or killed off, it will be mostly due to Sienna who will finally try to shop her in!!

At least he got a 'decent' exit of sorts. I don't watch anymore but read just in case Brendan ever returns.
Brendan got the worst exit ever for such a great character and I will never forgive Hollyoaks (Birkwood) for that same as I won't forgive them for putting Ste with any available bloke when the only person he really loves is Brendan.
As for Warren's return, what's the betting he will mention Brendan. Ste can't but he probably will goad Ste with something, maybe he's the one that gets him hooked on crystal meth

Did Patrick's video not have some sound issues? If it didn't what was Nico's excuse? I'm guessing she blamed Patrick's illness on him not making any sense.
As for Will, Nico really was just trying to help her Dad. If they'd been on ground level nothing serious would have happened to Will. I can see why Ben wouldn't blame her for that.
Ben's reaction is based on emotion. I think his motive for even calling the police was anger that Nico had taken away what he wanted to do - kill Trevor. At the time he probably just saw Nico as Sienna's daughter and wanted to hurt them. Then once he'd calmed down and seen how upset Nico was his instinct was to protect her. The police had all turned up expecting a confession or some new evidence. Ben was put on the spot. If Thorpe is at all competent then hopefully he'll see right through Ben's fake confession and realise he's covering for someone.
