Why does everyone hate hipsters?

I can't understand all the contempt for a seemingly innocuous group of people.

When chavs were hated I could sort of understand. As they can be intimidating, with the spitting, shouting, swearing, and violence.

I just think that it's a sad state of affairs when art and a range of good storytelling through more diverse characters/locations is limited to percentages and quotas.

Just a MP trying to be 'trendy' and appeal to the masses by referencing a fictional TV show, as others have said they want to try to get running the country right first before interfering with fictional TV shows.

-Ian Beale opens a cereal cafe - he could call it 'Cereal Monogamy'
-Martin addresses his financial difficulties by busking Pharrel Williams songs on a ukelele
