How to turn off last active on fb msg on mobile?

On the Facebook messenger app (on mobiles only it seems you get this issue) you can see when your Facebook friends where last active e.g - last active 10 mins ago. I don't like the idea of my Facebook contacts seeing when I was last online on Facebook.

Does anyone know how to switch this function off so people can't see when you where last active?

Open up the Messenger App, go to the “People” tab. On the very top is an “Active” button that shows all your active Facebook friends. Next to your own name is a toggle button, simply slide it to be off and you will then just show as being non-active to friends.

Thanks, so this won't show to friends for example 'acyive 25 mins ago' as that's what I wanna stop it showing last time I was active

Edit - just done this I go on one of my contacts on messenger and it shows one of friends as active 10 mins ago so if I can see theirs will it still show to them my last active time?

The only 100% sure fire way of stopping it doing this is, unfortunately, not using it.

Even switching the tab to "non-active" doesn't always work and it does count being online on a computer sometimes, especially if you use chat or send messages whilst on FB on a computer/tablet.
