Gail's scene with Carla was a return to prominence last night. That scene was the best scene they gave given Helen Worth in a very very long time. Gail has been written as a thick idiot for a while. She finally found her head and mouth last night.

Well all the (current) Platt's in the past have been cheated on themselves or have cheated on other people apart from Audrey and David who so far has only been cheated on by Kylie with Nick.

Gail: Cheated on Brian with Ian Latimer and was cheated on by Martin with Cathy Power and Rebecca Hopkins.

Nick: Was the other man to both Leanne and Kylie when they were both married to David and Peter respectively, he cheated on Leanne with Kylie and has now been cheated on by Carla with Robert.

Sarah: Was cheated on by Todd with Karl Foster but she cheated on Scooter with Jason and she was also the other woman too as Jason was seeing Violet at the time. Wasn't she also the other woman to a married footballer (off-screen) in Italy I think Bethany mentioned it?

Carla though is not blameless in all this:

Carla: Was the other woman to both Liam and Peter when they were both in a relationship/married to Maria and Leanne respectively, was cheated on by Peter with Tina and has now cheated on Nick with Robert.

So none of them are innocent when it comes to affairs but this is about Nick and Carla's relationship and Nick has every reason to be upset (just like Carla would be if it was the other way around) that she cheated on him and lied to him for ages and Gail was doing what she used to do in the past (which I'm glad about) and was defending her children.

I cheered when Gail slapped Carla.
Carla was in the wrong, she cheated on her fiance, pure and simple.

On the contrary. That is the Gail I remember. Like. And want to see more of.

She's great like this she's defended Sarah against Candice's mother, Blanche, Todd and Eileen in the past, she's defended Nick multiple times including yesterday as for David she's always defended him even when he's done bad things to her.

I'm starting to like Nick, too. It was great when he turned on Carla and Robert.

Gail was definitely OTT but this is a soap! Carla has not come out of this looking all that good and Nick is devastated which is why Gail reacted as she did but in real life I doubt anyone would do that.

Big deal, that was thirty years ago. But Carla continues to steal from others, cheat, get drunk and manipulate them but always seems to come out as the victim. Her carelessness has caused Cathy to end up in hospital, but we will still be expected to feel bad for Carla.

Ivy (God rest her) would finally be proud of Gail, defending her "first born" as Ivy did with Brian.

I think Gail has far bigger concerns now that she has discovered her annexe is a grave of Callums body! Honestly though, she had no right to slap Carla at all, after all, look at all the lies she told Michael about his son and it wasn't that long ago, not to mention the fact that she married a murderer ....

Carla did bring it on herself though. After all, if she had come clean about sleeping with Robert as soon as it had happened, yes Nick may have been upset but he would have forgiven her and she would never have needed to follow Traceys blackmail, Nick would still have his restaurant. I don't think it was the one night stand that upset Nick the most, it was all the lies she told afterward to cover it up. They always have to do this in soaps, after all, it would be terribly boring if everyone owned up to affairs and one night stands as soon as they happened wouldn't it?

Because of course she knew Richard was a murderer. What a poor excuse.

Carla deserved the slap, it is better than characters always mollycoddling her.

I agree Nick did say the worst thing Carla did was lie to him.

Dont forget Tracy. This plot started when Carla slept with Robert, but he was single at the time. It was only a few weeks prior to that she had been telling Rob she would get back with him if he was released from prison. And she cheated on Robert when they were married years ago. She's also been the other woman, even recently trying to con Liz pit of the Rovers. She has a nerve being on her high horse about Robert!
