Gail at her best!

Haven't seen her like this in YEARS.

I hope we get some scenes like this when she finds out about Callum.

I would love to see Gail emerge from this as a strong, independent character.

As many of you know, my jury is still out over whether the body is Callum's (or whether there is a body at all), but the aftermath should see the Platt family home at No.8 changed beyond recognition. I know other FMs have discussed this already, but houses involved in the concealment of a murder are usually demolished these days. Could that happen to No.8?

Gail needs to move into her own home away from David, Sarah and the rest of the gang.

Blanche is so sorely missed.

She is great in these scenes and Helen Worth puts in a great performance IMO. I think this is one of the last great moments of strong matriarchal Gail before her transformation began. I also think it is a nice reminder that while she is willing to fight tooth and nail for her family she also isnt afraid to put them in their place and punish them for their wrongdoing. The Gail of today lets David and others walk all over her too often.

Absolutely. I really, really hope that this ushers in a new era for strong matriarchal Gail. She puts David and Sarah in their place and takes no crap from them over the covering up of the 'murder'.

Yeah Gail and Sarah fell out a lot of times over boyfriends like Aidan Critchley, Todd (when she moved in with him) and Jason (because of the Grimshaw/Platt feud), she didn't want Sarah being pregnant with Billy and she even called social services on Sarah when she was living with Todd after Bethany got electrocuted.

Nick even married Leanne (in 1998) in secret because he was worried about her reaction.

OMG. That was marvellous acting from Helen there. What they have done to her character over the last few years is a disgrace.

I agree it was totally in character for Gail, the real Gail, not the simpering buffoon she has become in recent years. Gail was always strong, opinionated, able to stand up for herself, noticeably against Ivy in the first few years I was watching and Nick(y) is her golden child. Of course the lioness would come out when he's been hurt by his bride on their wedding dsy, especially as she had just discovered that his brain injury symptons have been returning so is extra vulnerable.

I'm sorry but Carla did deserve it. Yes, we know she is vulnerable, was vulnerable and upset when the infidelity happened and she's been desperate to cover it up since then so that people (including Nick) weren't hurt. But the fact remains that she was unfaithful, when they were properly together (not on a 'break') and she has gone to extreme lengths lying about it since - deceiving him into selling his business and moving away to protect her guilt. That really is a huge betrayal of trust and any Mother in their right mind would feel upset on their con's behalf - let alone one as protective as Gail is.

She might not mean to, she usually doesn't - but Carla is a mess and she continuously hurts not only herself but the people she loves (usually men) and the people close to them. I'm amazed Maria or especially Michelle can bare to be in the same room as her if i'm honest given what they've gone through and lost due to Carla's mess of a love life.

I just hope Gail will stay like this especially over the next few weeks/months the Platt family (especially Sarah) will need her protective side.
