Beau
au is very talented, and deserved to win this evenings semi final, but I do feel uneasy watching her because her voice sounds like someone twice her age, and it just seems a bit odd.

It feels like exploitation to me. I dislike pushy parents, especially ones who know full well that their daughter is painfully shy, but still allowed/encouraged/pushed her to audition. She's 12. She will still be talented when she's 18, so why not let her be a child and continue her performing arts education (where she would naturally gain confidence as she learns her craft), instead of encouraging this nonsense! These shows are tough enough on adults - putting a terrified 12 year old child through it is just obscene and suggests that either Beau's parents are pushy, or they're incapable of saying 'no' to her. Either way, they need to get a grip and start putting their daughter's welfare before their quest for fame!

There's no denying she has a very good voice, and she seems like a nice girl, but I just really don't like children singing like adults. I preferred last night's offering to her initial audition, though.

My view is she doesn't really "need" to win it, or stand to gain that much from it at the age she is now, because there aren't a lot of roles out there in musical theatre that would suit her. It would be beneficial to her if she was a few years older, when I've no doubt she'll be on the West End circuit. Good luck to her though, I've certainly seen less appealing child performers...
