Are you saying Aleesha is going to start a fascist state?
Ha ha! I'm just saying these judges need to be a bit more careful with their loose lips.

As for people taking offence by proxy, potential racism is the concern of us all, people turning a blind eye because "that offensive remark was not directed at me" is exactly how Nazi Germany started..
Are you Basil Fawlty?

Why can't she mention their colour? Four black men singing a genre that is almost exclusively white males.
Have you never heard of Willard White? Plus, this lot:

Hence the use of the word 'almost'.

Tonight we heard Alisha refer to a group of male singers as 'chocolate men' something which should surely be considered totally unacceptable in this day and age, it was like something you'd expect from Bernard Manning in the 1970s.

If that wasn't bad enough, we then had to endure Amanda Holden repeatedly referring to some dancers of Oriental origin as 'subhuman'.

None of these terms are acceptable in this day and age, and certainly not on a family television show.

What's Ofcoms number?
There has been such an outcry about her remark that I doubt she'll ever make such a faux pas again. However I have heard that expression before without any offence being caused, ie on This Week. Andrew Neil said something of that ilk and there was no fallout. I've also heard the term ''Chocolate'' or ''Chocolate biscuit'' used by black people about other black people.

If anyone can say it Alesha can! Nevertheless, children watch the show and there would be no end of trouble if a small child used the expression in the playground so, Alesha, be warned! But let's not make more of a deal of it than it was.

Because it's patronising and the equivalent of saying "yes you were quite good, for a girl"

If she wanted to say she was pleased to see black guys singing Opera, that's what she should have said, not started up with this "chocolate men" nonsense.
I think you're missing the point here entirely. You need to lead an audience to an opinion, not make the decision for them. Evidently, as her comment to them last night is one of the most discussed topics of last night, her point was to emphasize their USP of being black men performing in a predominantly white genre, in a positive way. If you hark back to the first series of X Factor, you may remember Sharon Osbourne in a particularly vicious rant at Steve Brookstein for being a white man performing "black music, like he is a black man". Granted, it was a different time back then but this is the exact reverse of that.

Are you all for real?

"Chocolate men" was clearly meant as a compliment, and as a black woman, Alesha clearly did not mean it offensively. It was clearly meant in a complimentary context. Give me strength...

As for "subhuman"... That would not even register with me as being offensive?! She was just referring to how their act of contortion was not how you would normally see a human act. HOW IS THAT OFFENSIVE?

You all need to get some fresh air and stop reading the daily mail.
so if I was on TV and said lovely milky bar men that would be OK then, can't have double standards.

Something along the lines of "Alesha that may be your opinion, but it doesn't give you the right to push the other judges buzzers". She tried to make a joke of it and insisted that David made her do it

I'm not offended by what she said to be honest, not at all in fact, i just don't like that she can get away with saying it because she is black herself. I don't go along with the whole "oh, she is black too so it's ok" thing. No, if you are offended by a white person saying it, then the same should apply if a black person says it.

I actually like the term chocolate men. If I was black I'd be proud to be called that because chocolate is loved by so many people.

Society had gone mad. Freedom of speech, as long as it doesn't offend the party in question.
Honestly some people have got nothing better to do....

Is there any need to be rude about it ? So tell me then , as a white person could I also have the same freedom of speech ? I very much doubt it

Do you even know what subhuman means ?
Though in all fairness I dont think Amanda meant it as its meaning

subhuman
adjective UK /ˌsʌbˈhjuː.mən/ US /ˌsʌbˈhjuː.mən/ disapproving

› having or showing behaviour or characteristics that are much worse than those expected of ordinary people:
Their treatment of prisoners is subhuman.

As for chocolate men well then what if Amanda had said " what a lovely group of white men " to a group ? It may not be racist but its blooy rude .
Well alesha didn't say 'what a lovely group of black men"

This is more about making sure that children don't start calling people "subhuman" or calling black people "chocolate". Both terms ARE offensive (even if offence was not necessarily caused in the particular instance) and shouldn't be used on national TV before the watershed.

BiB says it all.

But spare a little sympathy for the PC brigade who clearly have very sad little lives and assume, in their little bubble, that their views actually reflect those of ordinary people.

Oh I thought that was hilarious. A lot of people, outside of the homosexual community, aren't aware of the whole top/bottom language so it may have gone straight over their head, or at least not fully understood. I thought it was hilarious personally, and then Simon wagging his fingers at him afterwards!
