The Steven/Lauren stuff is just speculation from people on here. Nothing to say it will happen (though admittedly nothing to say it won't happen.) It's just as likely that Steven returns because he hears about the Devil Child and wants to confront Ian on the way he's covered for him, particularly given that he completely rejected Steven for what he did to Jane.
Also there's nothing to say that Steven will be sticking around beyond the end of the storyline they have intended for him, which means he won't necessarily have any sort of romantic involvement. If he does become a regular then I suppose it's more likely they'll have to address his sexuality at some point. I said in another thread that watching old clips of Steven with Stacey, it very much seemed to me that he was over-compensating and was actually gay and in denial. That's how the relationship read to me. But I wasn't watching EE at the time so maybe I missed some key scenes which revealed he had genuine feelings for women and not just men.
Steven/Johnny could happen, though I doubt it. Ben/Johnny is the most likely direction they're going in.

a) Fair enough, be nice for a EE to acknowledge an actual bi character rather than just a gay bloke using his mate's ex-girlfriend.

I agree that I'd like to see a decent bisexual character but I'm not sure I'd want it to be Steven; it would just seem to me like they changed his sexuality to fit the storyline, rather than because they genuinely wanted to depict bisexuality on EE. Plus do we really need to see another female character cheating on a guy with his brother? It's so overdone at this point it makes me roll my eyes every time it happens.

This. they may decide to put the two of them together, which would then explain why Peter doesn't want to come back to the square but I'm not sure Steven and Lauren would work. On the other hand, I think Steven would be furious that Ian covered for bobby - bobby is nothing to do with Steven but Lucy was sister so his loyalties would life totally with her. Of course you would have to wonder why he didn't come back before but I assume Peter and Lauren didn't tell him the truth. Once Lauren finds out bobby had confessed she obviously wants to come back to help Max and they have a big argument and that's how Steven finds out. All speculation, obviously!

And as I said in another post, the impression I got when watching clips of the two of them together was that he was doing it to over-compensate and to prove something to Ian. After one date he was talking about them moving in together and just generally being way too over the top for someone who is relaxed in a new relationship. And then there was Christian on the sidelines looking concerned and like he knew Steven was lying to himself. There may well have been more to the relationship that I haven't seen but on the evidence of that, I don't think it was anything more than the classic 'in denial' routine that we've seen so many times before.

Spoilers like this work through an embargo system; journalists and media sites will have the information already (as they need time to prepare it to put on their websites etc) but they are not meant to release the information to the general public until a specified date, usually Monday at midnight each week.
If Joe_H11 is correct then it means that he or someone he knows has broken the embargo for the week after next's spoilers, which is perfectly possible, but shouldn't have been openly shared on here until the embargo lifts.
