Steven is a dead man. Sad really, as I quite liked it when he shot McBeale, but he's made his choice. His death will be slow and painful, I promise.

Thanks.

They can always change it round. After all Steven was supposedly straight until 2008 - then the minute we find out he's a virgin and couldn't sleep with Stacey he goes from a ladies man to gay in 5 minutes

I actually like the idea of Steven being bi as it opens up more options for him. we all assumed Danny Pennant was gay after he tried to split Christian and Syed up but he turned out to be bi.

He's whatever the plot requires.

It kind of seems to me that in Steven's slightly unhinged mind, he wants to reunite the family and essentially "become" Peter, the son who was always treated with respect and love. So maybe he thinks that being with Lauren is a step in the right direction and that because he's acting like a dad to baby Louis, he'll eventually be welcomed back into the fold with open arms.

Quite clever if that's the direction they're going with him.

I think i've just about stopped laughing at that kiss now. Terrible story line.

They may as well give Ben a new GF now and call him BI.”

I actually don't mind Steven being bi if he is.

In Ben's case there were indications right from childhood that he was gay and it was good for the plot because of the conflict between his sexuality and Phil's homophobia and the obsession with the Mitchells being somehow special. Paul being gay and immediately accepted by Les and pam formed a nice contrast t the Phil/Ben situation and Johnny being gay works as well especially with his aunt Tina being a lesbian.

Steven went from being a ladies man to gay for no apparent reason - they threw in him being a virgin and not being able to perform with Stacey to try and make that plausible and gave Simon a personality transplant to explain Steven's eagerness to leave New Zealand and return to Walford. It was all very messy.

We thought Danny Pennant was gay at first when he tried to split Syed and Christian up but he turned out to be bi and that worked, and I think with Steven it would open up more options. Steven being gay is not necessary to plotlines the way Johnny, Ben and paul being gay is.

That would be great. Eventually he dyes his hair blonde and goes on a massive steroid binge. Forlornly stroking Ian's hair he whispers "I'll be your Peter daddy."

When Ian rejects him in horror he turns to Plan B: A Harley Street plastic surgeon who turns him into Lucy.

Just so long as he doesn't base himself on Bobby. I'm not sure he needs to pick up any more psychotic tendencies.

Mind you being a best friend or a lover to someone completely sane would get so boring after a while.

I'm finding Steven VERY annoying why is here? He has no blood relatives living in the Beale household and he shot Jane. Why did Lauren say in the pub he was the oldest son? He is not Ian's son. It feels like he is being shoe horned into a storyline he has no place in. I also find it disappointing they have made Steven Lauren's new bloke, I would have liked her to come back single and concentrating on being a strong independent woman.

Ah, I disagree. Steven was brought up as Ian's son even if he decided to disown him in the end. I feel he's potentially the adrenaline shot this never-ending story needs to bring it to an end. I much prefer him being back to them treading old ground with Peter.

Lauren is one of those characters who the writers are simply incapable of writing as single. As soon as things inevitably break down with Steven, she'll have Kush or Andy or someone sniffing around her. She's a character defined by her relationships.

I actually think it's quite natural that he's back. Ian thought Steven was his foot a while before learning the truth and even then be brought him up as his own son. He wa devastated when Steven decided to go and live with Nick, and Steven later admitted he wanted Ian to come and get him and that it was Ian who he really saw as his dad. We don't know that full story with Steven yet and whether he is actually friend or foe, but I am looking forward to seeing what he is going to get up to and whether or not he'll be accepted back into the family.

got to be honest, I am struggling to recall exactly what happened with him, I recall him and Christian being a thing, I think he attacked Jane, and tried to burn the house down, but beyond that im lost.

Ha ha, I've only just realised what my auto text has done! It sounds worrying if Ian thought of Steven as his foot! Think I meant to put ' Steven as his for a while '!
