Why does Blackburn destroy soap features?

One thing that I cannot stand about Stuart Blackburn is that he recklessly destroys famous things in soaps that have been featured for years.

In Emmerdale he burnt down Seth's hut which had been in the show for decades.
Then John Barton dies when the famous jeep that the Sugdens used goes off a cliff and gets destroyed.

Now tonight in Corrie the Kabin's paper statue gets hit in the crash.

Why do this doesn't he care?

I've seen the Hat be criticised for a lot of things but this is a new one

I was rather shocked that the Kabin Boy was destroyed. It is perhaps, a loss more severe than that of Kathy.

Spoiler
Sorry to disappoint the Cathy haters but she & Roy are in next week's TV mags announcing their engagement so looks like she wasn't even that badly injured!!

Perhaps he was intending to destroy the whole street?

So it can be rebuilt & called something a cross between Coronation St & Hollyoaks
