I found their rendition of Hey Jude to be very entertaining. Particularly the point where two cello players twirled their cellos - I have never seen anyone do that! Presumably the producers knew they were going to do that hence had the cameras focusing on them at that point.

it did not work at all with them all on stage, it was much better them popping up all over the studio that would have been much better, yes we would know to expect it but would have still worked as a viewing experience on tv

They would have had rehearsals with cameras and camera placement so of course the producers producers would know.

Personally I thought it sounded awful, it probably sounded better if you were there.

I felt sorry for them, there was clearly a plan for their act which got ruined by the production. The VT at the beginning was obviously meant to slowly fade into the performance so nicely and beautifully. However, instead what we got was a jarring uneven edit that went from the quietness of just one/two instruments to the sudden loudness of them already on stage and a sudden cut. I was so looking forward to them and their performance was butchered

How did they get to make a "music video" anyway? Seems a bit unfair

I hated it. They took a sad song and made it much, much worse. Stripped the heart and soul out of a great song.

The big thing that made their initial audition so good was the surprise of the band just getting bigger and bigger and then the choir kicking in.

And that surprise can only be done once, without that surprise they are good but noting special, so they were never on target for the win.

The two playing flute and clarinet were either miming, or just playing the exact same note all the time - neither of them moved their hands!

It was a confusing mess, to be honest.

Indeed - and Ant and Dec need to stop calling them a "flash mob", that's something with a surprise element!

A bit like signature in one of the first years, they depended on surprise, which obviously went after the audition, but they went all the way to the final and finished in the top 3 if I remember correctly!!

I completely agree. It's not my favourite song anyway and I just couldn't wait for it to be over
