Just wondering because (Janet, look away now) Callum COULD have got out, killed one of his enemies ... perhaps Denton, the one after him for the money he wanted from the Platts before the attack episode ... and left his own credit card in the drain for future ID purposes.

I don't know exactly how decomposed a body would be after 8 months, but I'm guessing pretty badly. Would a credit card be enough in this instance (plus his 'missing person' status) to wrongly declare the body him?

Just sayin', because Callum could have been in hiding or assumed a new identity. We did see him with a fake passport which Gemma gave him not long before he died so he could escape Britain. He wanted that £20,000 from the Platts because of this trouble with Denton and had the passport ready to flee anyway. Maybe he got out of the hole then Denton found him and he killed him, put his body in the hole and robbed the money he had on him/in his car and fled the country with the passport or wend into hiding somewhere else?

There's rumours Sarah 'sees' Callum which we are lead to believe is her losing her mind, but what if it actually is? What if Kylie's exit is linked in with him making a shock return, Richard Hillman style, after disappearing for one final showdown? Would be almighty, and doubt Blackburn has it in him, but still...

I'm not ruling it out until empirical evidence proves this body is Callum's.

But Callum is DEAD, Corrie confirmed it in September and the actor himself confirmed it. Callum is a goner. I doubt they would replace him with a character that nobody even knew or that none of the Platts seen or heard Callum getting out of the manhole and coming back later with a body of some randomer.

And afte 8 months, I'm pretty sure Callum would be porridge right now in that manhole.

Ross from Emmerdale was confirmed dead along with the actor also saying so, then he came back too.

Denton was not an unknown character, he was the reason Callum was blackmailing the Platts for £20,000 in the first place and Gemma gave him the fake passport, which is why he went round to see Sarah (who didn't have the money), then attacking her leading to Kylie hitting him with the wrench. It's not that impossible to think (for a soap) he regained consciousness, wriggled out and replaced the body with another one wrapped up in the carpet, in the dead of night.

They could have even filmed scenes at the time for flashbacks showing Callum get out, kill someone else, and dump the body with the credit card in the victim's pocket. And he could have filmed one shot looking at Sarah which we see soon, ahead of a proper (brief) return to filming for a climax once viewers have seen that on screen in the next few weeks.

It isn't even the same. Ross was left in a woodland and was gone for three weeks, Callum was hit over the head and dragged around for about an hour while wrapped in a sheet and stuffed down a manhole.

So by your logic Callum somehow got out, left, and came back with a dead body and put his ID on it, knowing that it would be buried even though it wasn't the Platts original intention to leave it there? And that it would so happen to be uncovered after being decomposed and they will think it is him?

And even if he wanted to fake his death he risked exposure by dragging a corpse into their house?

Well I don't know, plenty have gone on and on about how Callum has supposedly faked his death. And knowing how this forum thinks they are right and know better than the production crew themselves it wouldn't surprise me if they thought their ridiculous idea of bringing Callum back is a good one.

This is the street where Tracy committed murder and did three years and it is rarely mentioned. Kylie being exposed doesn't matter as she is leaving anyway. I am sure Corrie will find some way around it, doesn't exactly stop other soaps letting killers off, and it isn't even like David and Sarah did the deed.

Callum somehow regained consciousness, escaped the drain, got checked out, the bloke who was after him demanded money off him, he said he didn't have none, so the bloke somehow nicked Callum's bank details and credit card so in revenge, Callum killed him.

Michael Parr and Emmerdale confirmed Ross Barton to be dead but hes alive and kicking now.

How many times. CALLUM IS DEAD, Brown bread, a goner, 6 feet under ( Well not now lol! ). ITV have confirmed it again recently.

People on here seem to think that we are only talking about Callum still being alive because we cant accept he is dead. For a start I wasnt too keen on Callum anyway but I watch soaps to be entertained, so Callums body being discovered and Kylie or someone going to jail for it would really bore me. Coronation Street havent done anything like this before, the show has basically been like a really bad comedy fro the past 2 years. Yeah our theories on how another body got there are quite bad but ITV do employ professional script writers and stroyliners so surely they could come up with something?

ITV, the soap awards, everyone confirmed that Ross was dead in Emmerdale. Im not saying Callum is alive but its a soap so until its all over and someone gets sent down for it Im still open to the idea that he is alive.

Surely they'll have dental records to prove if it's Callum or not as he was put in the hole with his teeth intact.
