I think the actor and Les Dennis are taking time off for a play it was mentioned a while ago (not by the character, but that the actor said that he would be taking time off)

He's not missed to be honest.

Not at all. The actor only has one facial expression - permanently confused. I don't think I've ever seen him smile, which is a shame cos he's a good looking bloke.

He will be back eventually .

I was rather hoping he was in prison for stealing £2500 from the bistro, plus other assorted breaches of the criminal law, but it seems he's gt away with them all. Like carla with the £10,000 she stole from the factory.
