it is so difficult to narrow many to your top 10

but please try

who are your best top 10 Male artists

please consider:
-vocals
-discography albums and singles
- live performances and tours
- impact on music and social, culture and fashion
- longevity/journey
- just that connection

Bob Dylan
Rory Gallagher
Mike Heron
John Martyn
Bruce Springsteen
Richard Thompson
Tom Waits
Neil Young

James Otto
Trace Adkins
Darryl Worley
Brad Paisley
Toby Keith
Kenny Chesney
Hal Ketchum
Shane Minor
Uriah Shelton
Thad Luckinbill

God bless you and them always!!!

Holly

P.S. The last two that I named are actors that I have heard sing. The reason why my newest favorite, Billy Joe Royal, isn't on the list is because of him not being here anymore, but to me, that late beautiful precious is in a class by himself one way or another. I love him SO much!!!

I've based my top 10 on the number of songs by each artist that I have on my ipod. So, on that basis mine are...

David Bowie
Marc Almond
Prince
Gary Numan
Rod Stewart
John Mellencamp
Tom Petty
Billy Idol
Scott Walker
Adam Ant

Most of those are my favourite top 10 male artists, not necessarily all of them listed above though. If I was to do a 'top 10 male artists or favourite vocalists' type list then the likes of Billy MacKenzie (solo and as part of The Associates), Brian Molko (Placebo) and Russell Mael (Sparks) would also be in there.

He's a good pick. I had to take a 3 1/2 hour train journey today and listening to a greatest hits comp by him helped make it more tolerable experience I have to say. He's written some brilliant songs.

Definitely. Sweet Caroline and Forever in Blue Jeans, especially, are brilliant songs.

Yep, agreed. From what I listened too today I'd add 'Beautiful Noise' and 'Crackling Rose' to that list also.

Not sure if rappers are allowed, if not I'd replace them with Luther Vandross and Elton John. List is in no particular order apart from the top three.
