I believe Shayne will win best newcomer and apart from that Coronation Street dont deserve much else. I believe it will EastEnders and Emmerdales night.

This year could be Emmerdales, i think there has been a lot of attention brought to the fact Emmerdale usually dont do well at these awards, Emmerdale in large has been lauded and i can see the panel voted categories going in Emmerdales favour.

It would be wonderful if EastEnders wins best soap but if they dont i hope it is Emmerdale, i will be disappointed if Coronation Street pick up undeserved awards.

I think EE and Hollyoaks will dominate tbh.

ED will get a few but not the big ones, hope I'm proved wrong though.

Corrie will pick up one or two then a few made up ones which only Corrie get "lifetime achievement award for the Corrie cleaner who has been on set since 1967 or something like that"

Lifetime achievement award for Anne Kirkbride

Lifetime achievement award for Emily Bishop

Recognition award fro Tony Warren

I think he probably will, he's fitted in well as Aidan!!

Tim or Sally might have a chance of the comedy award, I know Sally is popular with a lot of people! Also they're a possible chance for best onscreen partnership!!

I would also like to see the live episode last year win something!

Don't think Corrie will win any of the 3 big ones this year though unfortunately!!

They don't deserve to either.

EE and ED will pick up most of the awards.

CS'll get a couple. HO will get a few.

Doctors might nab an award or two.

And why not?

Whatever we may or may not think of the quality of their work they put the hours in & in general seem a likeable enough bunch!!

Exactly that's all they are these and any other award show/ceremony, they have no real purpose apart from making some people feel good because their particular favourite got an award and the one they don't like didn't,

There is no way that Hollyoaks will dominate, unless the dopey tweens vote in their droves. The show is attocious and does not deserve any awards. I really hope this is Emmerdale's year.

Will Cotton and Marsh be there as usual swanning around, full of their own self-importance and behaving like soap royalty? Yet, in Corrie they are minor characters and never given major SLs.

You could well be right, if that is the case I'd rather Hollyoaks do well

Lots of awards for Emmerdale please, a good few for Eastenders, and 1 or 2 for Corrie and Hollyoaks just so that they don't go away empty handed, they don't deserve it though imo.

Good luck to her, I have no real problem with her to be honest!!
Ok, outfit wise I think she could sometimes follow the 'less is more' code with how much she reveals but she's not doing me any harm & if she enjoys these events then why not!!

It would be good for Corrie if they didn't win anything at all, then the producers/writers etc might see they can't keep churning out such rubbish. Corrie is the only tv soap I watch regularly, but I catch a bit of Emmerdale sometimes and I've watched the last couple of omnibus Eastenders and both of these are much better than Corrie right now - I'm very sad to say. They're both more natural, interesting and dynamic than CS. The Archers is loads better too

I feel insulted by how crap Corrie has been for quite a while now (imo the production team is taking the piss massively )- the good bits, such as Sally and Tim, just aren't enough to outweigh the overall awfulness of it, and they can be overdone a bit too

If it weren't for the new producer I don't think I could carry on watching, but I really hope she'll make a difference so I'm hanging in for a bit longer

Much as I love Corrie then, I'd be happy to see them leave the awards ceremony empty handed as they don't deserve to win anything.

ETA - Of course if Anne Kirkbride or Eileen Derbyshire were to win something that would be brilliant and well-deserved.

Corrie only one 1 award, yes 1 last year at the BSA's, but it still didn't give them the wake up call they needed, it's actually got way worse since then hasn't it! Just to compare, corrie won 8 of the 13 available awards in 2013, what a difference.

I didn't know that but it doesn't surprise me, and you're right it's got much worse. The producers etc are either really complacent or they've got themselves so far into crapness they can't get out.

They should all be pelted with rotten tomatoes or something at the awards do, (if you can't hear, feel ).
