Stuart Blackburn has really disimproved Corrie recently. Carla's last episode was terrible. Hopefully Kate Oates does a better job.

She can't really do a worse job, it seems to have turned into a Hollyoaks of older people in recent years. Barely any of the characters work, those that do all work in the same places, nobody seems to meet anybody from outside of the street, everything seems plot driven and the characters have no really skeleton. Yet, somehow I'm still watching out of habit and because I want to watch the show get better.

I really wish her luck, and I think we should all remember her in our prayers if we say them. She has her work cut out

I think she did a great job with Emmerdale, so I am positive she will do the same with Corrie. She'll have her work cut out for her though :/

LOL - try saying that after watching episodes from the Mervyn Watson era.

But have you not noticed? The number of people moaning about Corrie has risen significatly under Blackburn. THe complains far outway the positive. Much like the show itself. Phil Collinson's era was the opposite. He had complaints, but majority was positive.

He made Corrie exciting. Blackburn has dulled it to death.

Impossible.

Corrie is in a critical condition and KO is as powerless as we are. She can make some cosmetic changes but the deep problems holding Corrie back can only be solved by a huge change in the senior management team.

Really? Other than pairing up Sally and Tim, I can't think of any other "good stuff" Blackburn has done.

Blackburn did bring back Jenny Bradley as well as the Sally and Tim pairing and the Tim and Kev bromance. I don't think KO can do a worse job than him as most of his storylines have been boring, excited about what the future holds.

You mean the removal of Kieran Roberts as Executive Producer?

Emmerdale did well in the soap awards so this looks promising for corrie as Kate Oates must have been doing something right.

Tim and Kev
the live episode
carla and nick
nicks brain damage
bringing back Jenny
Billy the Vicar
bringing back todd
getting Sophie out the shop and interacting with the street
Anna and Kevin, Roy and Cathy both very good pairings
steves depression

just a few examples, obvs just my opinon. I was struggling a bit with corrie just as steves story started but it has improved and got better and better since the mini bus crash

Not being funny soap_lea but Steve's so-called depression story was an atrocity. Right from the GP suggesting depression after 5 minutes of Steve babbling some shite about a mole to the block storytelling and horrible acting involved it certainly won't go down as one of Blackburn's redeeming features.

Not been funny but that is your opinion, I don't share it. the storyline in my opinion and my experience was very well done.

You don't agree that is fine do you still watch corrie? I will assume you don't given you think it is proper rubbish

Tim and Kev Yeah I'll give you that.
the live episode (some of it, rest meh) When you compare to the Tram Crash ep, it doesn't register at all.
carla and nick No. Just another pairing for the sake of it.
nicks brain damage Could have been used so much better
bringing back Jenny Yes, great character, so much potential, but not used fully again.
Billy the Vicar Good character without Sean. Axe Sean, then he's perfect.
bringing back todd Yes, but again not used to his best, He's just been Tracy's sidekick. I would have given Todd a boyfriend, and put him in an abusive relationship, with Billy the Vicar as his saviour.
getting Sophie out the shop and interacting with the street Sophie needs to steer clear of all lesbiens. Every new lesbien character who arrives, she's instantly trying to get with them.
Anna and Kevin, Roy and Cathy both very good pairings Cathy is irritating.
steves depression Pretty poor tbh. Particuarly with his iiritating wife Michelle.

just a few examples, obvs just my opinon. I was struggling a bit with corrie just as steves story started but it has improved and got better and better since the mini bus crash

So going by that list, Stuart Blackburn's tenure has been 97% poor. An incredible feat for a producer. Not even Kim Crowther managed that. I enjoyed Corrie far more under her tenure.
