Corrie Off Set Street Names & Locations
How many can you think of that characters frequently mention?
On set are, Coronation Street, Victoria Street, Victoria Court & Rosamund Street Tile Street - with Nick's favourite cobbler, there really is still a shop like that in my town. Balaclava Terrace Incaman Street Bessie Street The Ring Road (must be equivalent of Mancunian Way) also The Red Rec (local park) The Weatherfield Arms (brought in for a storyline where The Rovers Return competed in pub quizzes) Freshco (they did film in Bettabuys in the 90's but now the local supermarket is only mentioned and there is a logo design seen on shopping bags) The Duck in Arms and Callum's rough estate, probably the same place that Michael (Les Dennis) and Jenny Bradley had flats in. Weatherfield Police Station Weatherfield General Hospital Weatherfield FM Bessie Street Primary School Don't like The Sun much but it provided the best ever map of what the whole town/suburb of Weatherfield might be like mapped out. - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=we...Aek--qlf5JM%3A I think since then, they have changed it. |

And wasn't it Chepstow Road where Gavin and notGavin lived? Michael didn't really need to search worldwide for him.

It's amazing that they frequently mention all of these places, but the programme never make any effort to show them and get characters out of the bloody street for a change!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There used to be a few restaurants the characters went to - I think Delphine's might have been one of Mike Baldwin's favourites - but now everyone goes to the bistro. I used to like the hardware shop that Sally (I think) ran, and there were quite a few scenes at Fred Elliot's butcher's. Were they on Coronation St or somewhere else in Weatherfield? |

They were definitely within walking distance to the Street. Wasn't Grassmere Drive the name of the posh street were Audrey lived/lives? |

Currently part of the Corrie set:
Rosamund Street - a supposedly long, busy thoroughfare and one of Weatherfield's main roads. Used to be home to the Kabin and the original cafe before both businesses moved premises to Coronation and Victoria Streets respectively. Victoria Street - home to Roy's Rolls, the kebab shop, Victoria Court and the gym. Before it appeared in 1999/2000 as a tatty back street, Victoria Street was supposedly home to very large Edwardian properties. Blanche lived there when she first appeared in 1974. Sally's hardware shop is now the kebab shop. The old butcher's is now the 'community centre'. Both are on Victoria Street. Viaduct Street - the street running parallel to Rosamund Street. Home to the bistro and garage extension. Other streets regularly mentioned: Mawdsley Street - the street directly behind Coronation Street. The Coronation Street back yards back directly onto Mawdsley Street back yards. At the start of Corrie Martha Longhurst lived on this street. There was also a chapel there in which Emily and Ernest Bishop married in 1971. Crimea Street - has a junction with Rosamund Street and used to be seen 'through the arch' of the viaduct in the early 2000s opening credits. Was the location of to the large house that Mike Baldwin converted into flats that were home to Deirdre Rachid and Roy Cropper. Inkerman Street - runs off Mawdsley Street in the same direction as Rosamund/Viaduct Street. Notorious home of Stan Ogden's fancy woman. Was also home to Ivy Tilsley until 1979 and the Duckworths until 1983. Bessie Street - location to Bessie Street School. In the very first episodes it was called Balsam Street. Jubilee Terrace - the street on the 'other' side of the viaduct which now houses the bistro. Was original home to Minnie Caldwell before she moved to Coronation Street in 1962. Hillside Crescent - was home to Betty Turpin for the majority of her time on the show. Grasmere Drive - home to Audrey since 1989. The Precinct - never knowingly appeared as a location on the show but has been referenced since at least the 1970s. According to some sources its official name is the Queen's Precinct and is bordered by Rosamund Street, Curzon Street, Gladstone Terrace and Queen Street. Tile Street - officially the location of Weatherfield Police Station but this hasn't been referenced for many years. Some sources say that the Red Rec is on Tile Street. Balaclava Terrace - a street of apparently thriving businesses including restaurants and shops. Nightingale Terrace - home to Maud Grimes in the 90s and then to Jed Stone when he was tormented by Tony Gordon in the late 00s. Other streets not mentioned in years: Alf Roberts Wynd - the proposed new name of Coronation Street in the 1990s. Canal Street - location of the original garage when owned by Brian Tilley. Albert Road - home to the infamous Jackson's Chippy before "Wong's" and "For Your Fries Only" opened on Rosamund Street. Clarence Street - home to Sylvia's Separates clothes shop where Elsie and Gail worked in the 70s. Mafeking Street Disraeli Row |

I'd like scenes with like Ken or Emily in the ginnel bumping into one of the Mawdsley Street residents while putting the bins out, you never bloody see of hear them!

What must the quiet residents of Mawdsley Street folk think of their Coronation Street neighbours and all their dramas?

Make sure the ginnel is clear before opening their back gates, there is a legend that someone didn't check before stepping out, they were never seen again. |
