A little bit but it was hard to tell a story and do the tricks at the same time

Where was the magic? apart from the card switch after he ripped it up which wasn't a good switch.

he may win though because it was a cool idea.

I'm very patriotic - but by golly - that was milking it!

Gets my vote. I can't stand the big, in yer face illusion acts and I've seen them too many times. I am sure a lot of people were hoping for a bigger finish with more magic though so I understand why people would be disappointed. Personally, I'd rather he won than another singing or dancing act and please not a third daft dog winner (much as I liked last year's). I think this annoying choir with its bellowing women will clinch it.

What a load of rubbish. A magic act that doesn't do any magic. All he did was tell a story using a preloaded deck with some of the worst fake shuffling I have ever seen. I started laughing when he started waggling his thumb back and forth to give the impression of a shuffle.

Yes the shuffling was very amateur, Paul Wilson and Jason England are the masters with a deck of cards he should watch them and learn.

Hey, I'm a fan. I just expected something more like his last two performances. I'm not asking for Siegfried and Roy!

Not really as that is the trick! Story telling using cards (in many different versions) has been around for decades. That is the whole trick. You tell your story and turn over cards in many different ways.

Couldn't agree more, it was awful and he made a clear mistake in it.

The fact is the act wasn't very good on the night that is clear from the numerous comments on here across a number of threads. The whole 'story was nice with the veteran etc but where was the magic, that is what his act should be judged on. What annoyed me was the judges, they simply weren't honest in their opinions, why did they give a standing ovation and such high praise when the act wasn't great, are they watching a different act to all of us?

The question is why did so many people still vote for him despite this?

It was so dull and boring and had very little magic in it. Crazy that he won after that!

You do understand that magicians do do other peoples tricks don't you?
Someone invents a trick and then usually sales the trick or publishes it in a book or DVD.
When you buy this, yes even you, unless otherwise stated, then you are free to perform that trick. Yes it helps if you put your own stamp on it, but the basics of the trick are still the same.

What next? All the singers sung songs ripped off from other singers? All the dancers waved their arms and legs around pretty much like every other dancers does?
