What about the winners performance? If he wins he'll have to perform again won't he?

The Royal Variety is also pre-recorded. If he slices his own head off they can just cut him out and replace him with Jack Whitehall.

It does not go out live, it goes out a day later. He performs in front of live audiences, it's just ITV being ludicrously cautious. Other countries laugh at our wimpy attitude to censorship and health and safety.

Good point. They'll either have to show the same pre-recording again, or replace the chainsaw with a rubber one.

That line he has on the pole makes sure he can't fall any further than he needs to, so nothing's ever gonna go wrong. But still...ITV can't risk anything.

The winner doesn't perform again on the night. I think you are confusing BGT with other shows.

They have in the past - maybe in the early years. I distinctly remember Paul Potts and George Sampson doing their routine again. Maybe just the musical ones.

I didn't remember that, but they don't now as far as I know and anyway it wouldn't work with some acts, like this year's winner for example.

I suppose he could have done another trick.
