Richard Jones vs Jamie Raven
Both were good but I personally think Jamie Raven was much better and robbed of winning last year .

Richard's audition and semi final performance were better than tonight's - but he got my votes anyway!
Will be interesting to see how big his winning margin actually was. |

I like both I think Richard started of strong but his final peformance wasn't as good as first two. Where as Jamie peaked on his final peformance and deserevd the win last year but of course the dog ended up winnning.

Richard Jones has far more stage presence than Jamie Raven

raven botched his trick - lemon with a hole in it
unfortunitely both were very amateurish and didnt deserve to win. i expect to see both on the childrens party magic circuit |

For starters, the card trick Jamie did in his audition (where the cards had an animation when the stick man takes off his hat and pulls out said card) my nephew bought off Amazon for £10 about month earlier.
When I saw the audition on BGT last year, I told my nephew and he burst out laughing when he saw Simon saying "I believe you have magic powers" as my nephew knew how the trick worked, and there was 0% of "magic" involved. The thing with magicians is all about the showmanship, and Richard had more of a stage presence. He also didn't call Alesha a "sir" either. Nor did he present a helicopter with black strips still attached after the big reveal. ![]() Richard's performance in the final was actually very well executed and it was very British. Therefore a more worthy winner imo. |

Both are very similar in appearance and style. I think future magicians are going to have to be very different otherwise they risk coming across as pale imitations, especially as the tabloid press seems to expect real wizardry that the cameras won't expose.

A better question to ask would have been, "which was the worst"?

They both did the same trick in the final. Folding a paper, and making it whole again. And raven did it better.

I think we should throw Darcy Oake into this comparison too.
Darcy certainly had the best audition, I think it was one the biggest 'wow' moments the show has ever had. But Richard was best out of the three in the live shows IMO. However, they're all great - and Richard and Jamie in particular seem very likeable to me. |

I must have been watching different programs
They were all poor amateur magicians, using poorly executed off the shelf tricks |
