Singing the same song
I don't like it when a singing act repeats the same song they did earlier. They wouldn't let a musician get away with the same trick or a dancer the same choreography.
Plus for me singing is far more versatile. There are thousands of songs to choose from so to sing the same song again is extremely lazy in my opinion. |

I have mentioned Beau's repeat of her audition on other threads. There must be a reason why she did so but it is hard to understand the thinking behind it. Especially when last nights performance was not a patch on her original audition which was truly spine tingling!
But all the other acts had to come up with a fresh routine. So why was Beau allowed to just sing the same song again? Many seemed to be expecting 'Let It Go' - and as you said there is no shortage of wonderful stage musical songs she could have tackled. According to all the Saturday papers she was more or less unbeatable. Shows what the pollsters and experts know.... |

It was awful. Both Beau and Craig just did their auditions again. Glad neither won.

Singing acts always come in for criticism when they repeat their audition songs (even Susan Boyle) so I'm surprised that contestants haven't learned that by now.
With so many songs to choose from in musical theatre and film tracks, I'm surprised that Beau didn't choose to surprise us all with a new one last night. She brought the house down with her audition song, but whoever decided for her to sing it in the final forgot to factor in the nerves a 12 year old would have on a final night. Had Beau pulled it off it would have been spectacular, but alas she didn't - and last nights performance was nowhere near as good as her audition. She would have been better singing an easier song well, and as many have said "Let it Go" would have suited her far better, or even an age appropriate song like "Tomorrow" might have gained her more votes. On last nights showing, she didn't deserve to win - but again, nerves got to a lot of the contestants, and it showed. |

It happens every year and isn't unique to singers. Thankfully the heavy criticism of it means there's less of it than there used to be. |

Oh yes they would. George Sampson repeated his Singing in the Rain dance routine to win it. In the same final, musicians Escala and dancers Signature repeated their audition pieces.
It happens every year and isn't unique to singers. Thankfully the heavy criticism of it means there's less of it than there used to be. |
