Lack of females in the 10 year celebration?
Pretty awful wasn't it.
Ashleigh and Pudsey seemed to be the only break in males dancing, drumming, singing performing magic. The shadow group had some females in it but were stuck behind the screen. The ratio of 1 female to 50 men is not representative of talent in Britain. |

How representative is it of the acts you can remember from BGT though.

The papers say producers excluded Susan Boyle but I know some people were hoping to see one of the young girl singers now older.
I personally would recall Escala over that drummer. Jonathan and Charlotte came second, easy way to get another female onto the stage if they had wanted to. |

I'm sure they could have got Connie Talbot, or the Cheeky Monkeys from series one if they'd wanted to - or I'm sure Hollie Steels mum would have been delighted to have got a call on Hollies behalf......
It was pretty good to see how much Lagi (Stavros Flatley) has grown up, and I'd have liked to see some of the other young acts (the young lad who was runner up to Jai) on there too . |

Britain's Got Talent voters don't like women. Look at their appalling track record on the show.
If you look at the final 3 of every series, 22 have been male, 2 have been mixed and a whopping 4 have been female ( 2 of which were male dog acts). Britain's Got No Female Talent apparently. |

It would have been interesting to see those 'no-shows' I've mentioned above, along with Connie Talbot and Hollie Steele, also Lettice with her violin. However, the group performance we did get was great - Ashley Banjo did a great job with the choreography! With so many acts having been in the semi-finals and finals over the past 10 series of BGT, there would always have been people saying "Why wasn't so-and-so included?" It's the nature of these things. |

The person choosing the acts clearly likes guys and if the dog could perform on his own he probably would have.
It has nothing to do with availability, Paul Potts is the only one busy on the other side of the world and he's not female. Any female act still performing would jump at the opportunity to be on that stage and any with agents would move mountains if they got invited to get the exposure infront of millions of viewers. |

The vast majority of people who actually vote are women. And women generally won't vote for other women.
Basically, women are bitches

How come there has to be some PC picking at absolutely everything these days?
Why can you not just enjoy something for what it is? I'm a woman, I watched and thought wow, that was great. Ashley Banjo is a super talented bloke, well done everyone. Not once did I think to myself, this is wrong! There's no women! Why does everything have to be picked apart by the PC brigade? |

Thinking back at BGT acts there are not a lot of good female acts anyway. The only ones that tended to get through were singers and singers are boring.

There's no such thing as the 'PC Brigade'.I agree with you though that this should be enjoyed for what it was - a superb festival of 10 years of talent

It is interesting isn't it and a bit odd really, any theories as to why this would be the case?
Edit: There's an opportunity there though. If a new woman can really crack the show and win she could be as big as SuBo. |

I did notice this as well, although I generally enjoyed it it did seem an odd choice by the production staff to only pick one act with a woman in it! Given that they were picking memorable acts from the show's whole history.
I too was expecting Escala to show up - one of the most memorable acts for me, or Susan Boyle. I didn't recognise the male singers at the end. EDIT: As the comment above me mentions, I don't recall that many female acts by name - but I don't recall that many acts by name in general. The only two that spring to mind are the singing grandfather and granddaughter, and the awful piano teacher lady who pulled manic faces and danced while playing the keyboard. I only remember her because she was so bad and somehow got to a final! |
