I have been sent a file to reset an IP Cameras firmware after it failed and teh instructions are as follows

1. A Windows PC with LAN port, a network cable, and the IP camera
2. Connect one side of the network cable to your PC’s LAN port, leave the other side disconnected.
3. Set the PC’s LAN network adapter’s IP address to 192.168.1.X, X means a number which between 20 and 200.
4. Disable other network adapter in Windows except the LAN adapter.


Am OK with points 1,2 and 4 could anyone please offer advice on how to do point 3. I am running Windows 10.

Does the camera not show up in a browser if you input its IP address? I’ve setup at least 6 IP cameras and all have been accessed this way.

Oops I didn't realize I posted in this forum. It was meant to be the PC one like you mentioned.

I have somehow answered my own question. Had to go into Network settings and changed the IP address under Internet Protocol V4 (if that means anything)
