then they would do Richard's trick!

His magic trick was the best trick that I have ever seen in any top 3 from a BGT grand final ever!

(no disrespect to Mr Raven who is of course a great illusionist!)

Then your idea of a good magic trick is pretty poor!
Unless of course I missed the sarcasm

well please correct me if I'm wrong but I am only referring to the top 3 in a bgt final, as far as I know the only other magician to reach the final 3 in a bgt final has been Jamie raven. I just think that Richard's trick was better than Jamie's.

But as the saying goes 'another man's meat is another man's poison'

If you drink lots of it you think Richard's magic was great and post about it on Digital Spy!

its to do with the Carlsberg long running advert slogan line (if Carlsberg did..)to illustrate that they are the best lager in the world , so therefore anything else that they do is the best as well

hence the line

if Carlsberg did...

I posted this in thread above, but why are people dissing his magic ability? It;s a talent show,no one requires him to be Dai Vernon or Derren Brown. Should every singer be Adele level?
He performed to best of his ability,he made a small fault when laying out the cards at the end but thats all,no different to other acts who made mistakes. Yes it was a fairly basic trick at the final but again so what?
It was overly sentimental and mawkish but thats not a reflection on ability. You dont win TV talent contests by having technical skills of above named magicians you win it on personality, and you pick tricks that are easy to perform under pressure.

very true words!

TBH I was so caught up in the military story that Richard was telling that I didn't even notice his small mistake till you mentioned it.

You normally win them by being pretty good at what you do. His final performance was awful, sort of magic you would expect a 10 year old to do.

I'm pretty sure they did actually Though it changed a few years ago that slogan has been around since the 70's

"Probably the best lager in the world" is the one you're thinking of I think. "Carlsberg don't do [whatever] - but if they did, they'd probably be the best [whatever] in the world" is a considerably more recent variation.

1.Possibly because he is an amateur
2.There was no fanning of the cards!

Do some research

It's very similar to fanning them out on a table like a ribbon fan, and he even messed that up.

I don't pay a lot of attention to adverts, generally I go and do something else when they come on, unless they have animation or cute animals, the only two things that are likely to make me watch an advert.

And as alcoholic drinks are of no interest to me whatsoever, I definitely wouldn't be watching (or reading) adverts for them, so it doesn't make any difference how long the adverts have been running for!
