Very true. Robron, love them or hate them, put ED on the map this year and I can see EE wanting to emulate that. They may have hit upon something with Steven and Johnny. Steven is ridiculously charming, and Johnny was a popular character during Sam's portrayal of him; I think he could be again with the right material.

I have a feeling they'll have toned down Stevens more psychotic tendencies this time around, and just make him more of a regular charming badboy. I've got no issue with Johnny getting involved with someone like that, so long as they don't make it a borderline abusive relationship as they seem to have done with Robron (I don't watch ED but that's a criticism I often hear.)

I do hope Steven is back for at least a year.

If DTC had an idea of what he wanted from Steven and Johnny its possible he got Ted and Aaron to screen test prior to Ted winning the role. The fact everyone is excited proved their was a chemistry spark there. So if this is the case its worked.

That's what they did with Lacey Turner and James Bye. Lacey screen tested with several Martin's until they found the best one for chemistry. DTC had a plan all along to get Martin and Stacey together.

I've just noticed that Trouble by Taylor Swift was playing when Johnny and Steven met. If the musical foreshadowing was intentional, hats off to the sound department.

I think it also served as a reminder to casual viewers that Steven is gay (or is now possibly bisexual) because I think a lot of people would've forgotten.. and the fans might have complained that it had been retconned

To be fair HO got JP & Craig and Brendan & Ste spot on. Loved watching those stories unfold.

Rather see Johnny and Steven that him and Ben.

Maybe all the things between Johnny and Ben was to almost make us comfortable with the idea of Johnny being with someone slightly more unhinged, darker, etc.

Or, is it the other way around, and this will make us more accepting of Johnny and Ben as a pair?
