BIB Speaking of which, I am intrigued to discover what these major changes are for the upcoming series...any lessons learned I wonder.
I suspect Ali's disappointment was compounded by her feeling that she may have let Jay down but, as a professional, those remarks must have been more than cuttng. I do hope the show doesn't follow in the wake of Dancing with the Stars, making it increasingly irrelevant to its original premise (i.e. celebs learning ballroom and latin). ETA: Do you think there might be new fudges? I seem to remember hearing a lot of whispers about some of them wanting to resign as not getting on behind the scenes. But one never knows how reliable gossip is - it can be completely without foundation. |

Hi TT
![]() When I open it, it says 93 views, if that's any help. It looks absolutely fantastic, but as usual I can't get it all to appear on my iPad, so will have to wait to look on the laptop tomorrow..... Looks brilliant , thank you so much xx |

Thanks! Just opened it again, and it's finally showing some views for the album (141), although each individual photo still reads zero!
But your Flickr pics are great. I am one of the 141 BUT I have looked at each individual pic as well so I can't say why it says zero. Vagaries of technology |

For DD
There once was a fudge called the Grinch Who couldn't be nice in a pinch He hums and he haws While he sharpens his claws He couldn't be trusted an inch crh playing the part in panto. Don't know what year though. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/...23_634x961.jpg http://balletnews.co.uk/wp-content/u...-2-700x466.jpg |

Now up to 229 views but the most any individual photo has had is one (and that's only just now!). Maybe it had a problem with a 100 photo album? But that's not exactly huge. I'm sure others have much larger ones.
![]() Anyway I must away to my bed as I've just realised I've got to be up at 6.00am. Oops |

I've just looked again and pics I know I have looked at more than once are only saying 1 view or the first pic that I hadn't looked at separately says two viewings. So I am completely confused.

I've got no idea how this sort of thing is counted anyway. Do they only count one view per user, or does it get counted each time someone looks at the picture again, or whatever. Anyway, it just gives me a general idea that someone is looking at the album!
Night for now PS I've bookmarked mine. Does that make a difference? ? |

It has to be said, that the words on this thread
Are just great, be they verse or review. I'm very impressed, And just feel so blessed To have found it, and joined in with you. But there's more we can view, to give it it's due, That adds to the infinite variety. There are vids, links and pics, And gifs of Jay's licks, That's 'goodbye' to all sense of propriety. To be fair, there is more than dry lips to explore, The gifs offer moments that move. They are pictures to treasure, Or fun beyond measure. Such pleasure. Who could fail to approve? Still more, I might add, and it's happy and sad, That's the news that our sistas may bring. Of course all the bro's Who may wish to disclose, Are most welcome, this thread's great for sharing. It's more often the case, that the news we embrace Is Jaynews, that's, of course, if there is some. But it's often a crawl More so, nothing at all, Then a BIG one may drop, and that's awesome. Opinions may flow, back and forth, on the go, The life-blood of the thread, you might say. They're so lovely to see, And they're how you and me Can keep it all going.....Interplay. By using the net, we can trawl and we get Some Jaygems from way back in the day. They may be historic, Or his rise meteoric On Strictly, or up to today. I expect you can see, what my difficulty Would be in attempting a tweet. The limit, you see, Would simply floor me. Use one-forty letters? How sweet! "That's too short!", I would wail, I simply would fail. How does everyone manage? I wonder. Though I like a good read And get through them at speed, If I tried to write one, I'd blunder. Still, back to this thread, while it's still in my head, I will bring this ode to a close. With appreciation And admiration, To all who contribute..........* a rose.* |

Hey Speedy - they were so unsure, weren't they? It's not the final final announcement as it were. This is the elimination after the showdance. Their expressions before the final result were so similar though that I didn't post a second screencap!
Does anyone know why Flickr might not be showing me a viewcount for this album? It's all showing zero, so unless everyone is merely pretending they've looked at it, I'm guessing at least one person has visited! I appreciate everyone's work on this thread. Thank you all so much! |

Just to s[w]erve briefly back on topic , jnb - can't wait to hear who'll be appearing with Jay in BIG. Anyone fancy a guess? Ticket sales for the first night still looking slow 😬 (but midweek much healthier). Quote:
Remind me, when is the BIG first night??
ETA Found it 5 Nov....maybe it's the fact it's Guy Fawkes that's slowed things up? Dates after that look good, considering there's not a huge lot of publicity surrounding it, as far as I know, anyway.....![]() ) firework show on the Hoe, and one site I saw warns people that parking will be difficult.I don't think this is the website I originally saw but it gives you an idea of what's going on for one night only as opposed to six nights. http://www.plymouth.gov.uk/homepage/...nightevent.htm As someone else said perhaps ticket sales for the 5th are also slow-ish because it's the first night and people are hedging their bets in case things don't go smoothly that night. On the other hand how exciting to be there on opening night.

Sounds to me like the big changes are just new pros - after all, they've lost Kristina, Aliona, Ola and Tristan.
Different Pros will inevitably bring a different flavour but regarding the fudges, I have wondered why it is crh that has been taking a leading role during the break...up there to receive awards and the one in the press dropping hints. Where's Uncle Len??? Fingers crossed for a different selection of fudge...my favourite is rum n raisin

Fred probably has all our homework detailed, so we should perhaps wait for her. Though I do have some of the posts bookmarked. (Frantically scrabbles through about 100 bookmarks in the Jay and Aliona folder. ![]() ![]() )Well, call me a liar! Review week for the pairing and the cha-cha began 8 January (in part3!!), so way before the tour began. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=4237 and three posts later http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=4240 Waltz - no links to Fred's post TT's (belated) screencaps/review for the waltz http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=2415 Jive (in part 4 of the thread) (26 February) http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=9052 TT's screencaps/review for the jive http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=2743 Quickstep (4 March) http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...ostcount=10328 Paso (part 5) (11 March) http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...&postcount=727 American Smooth - No link from Fred bookmarked (hangs head in shame!) Just found this video - it's TW singing For The First Time from the R1 Live Lounge performance but set to pictures of J so if you don't like the scary make-up of the LL performance you can watch J instead

Morning all!
Wow, a lot happening overnight with poems, reviews and Speedy's mega-update post! danceagogo - Your review was a lovely read with my early morning Earl Grey! I quite like KFG, but I'm with you in not feeling sorry that he hasn't won despite being in 3 finals, because.....he's been in 3 finals......he's been on the show for 3 years and made the final every time. It took Anton 13 series to get there, and some of them don't get there at all! hannah and RaffertyCat - more terrific poetry. Thank you. ![]() Speedy - Good points made on why it was a good thing that we didn't get a final jive. Some of those hadn't really registered with me before. Hair and make up had all day to get the look right for week 3 with hair extensions, but in a busy final? I wonder if the judges would have been kinder with their comments though, knowing that the jive was coming up? TT - I've just had another look at your 100 pics, and it's showing a view count of 260 now. I don't know about the individual pics though, because on my iPad they all come up as one continuous roll which I scroll down through, and I can't see any numbers or labels, which I think you mentioned before? |

Sorry for random methods of replying/appreciating, hope it's not too annoying Quote:
As I've have been refused my latest Jayjob applications and am consequently running a bit low on them I am wondering if I may be Curator of the Jayewellery. I would look after his bracelets and other wrist thingies and earrings and any more body jewellery which may lurk underneath his clothes.

more phrases for the phudge? BTW, everyone, I started collecting the phrases that describe Jay (slinky mcsupple etc, mostly, I think BB and Korky) but can't find them now. Anyone remember them?Quote:

Final Review - or maybe that should say Review of Final!!
Have missed a few weeks, so thought I'd do it as an overview - probably more of a reflective rambling one as opposed to a technical analysis, but I'll try for coherency.😊 AFTERMATH THOUGHTS Waiting for the actual announcement was murder. The last time I was as invested in a result was Mattiona. Loved Matt and Aliona as much, although Jay is a better dancer. Thought they also got on very well as a couple. He was happily married, with a great work ethic, same as Aliona this year with Vincent. No conflict. Voted like mad. I was so disappointed Matt lost, but not disappointed that Kara won. Whereas I would have been very disappointed if either of the the 2 double initials had won. I don't feel the same sorrow about Kevin's missed finals' triumphs. He's been in 3 finals because he's had 3 good partners. Who else has had 3 in a row? Aliona was quite honest and straightforward about her success (although it also was her excellent instruction which triumphed) In some ways now, I could almost welcome the 'calibre' of her last 3 partners as she would never have been partnered with Jay otherwise, and think what we would have missed!! Probably wittered enough. If I did have other thoughts, they will be left for posterity. This series and that partnership was definitely the best too much ever. TT - accessed Flick'r at last. Great job💃 FRED - My thanks also for all your work👏 Quote:
Been absent for a few days, trying to catch up, apologies for not acknowledging every post but here are some of my responses...sorry, this may take a while...by which time a good few of you will be tucked up in bed. Ah well, cue tumbleweed. In no particular order but... First... a discussion between TT and Cat mainly, re Jive/no Jive final. I said at the time that I completely trusted Jay and Aliona's decision to leave out the Jive from the final. . Can you imagine That Jive with godawful singing, poor camera work and, I don't know, a laughable wig (tour version)?? Poof, and the magic of the week 3 night is, well, besmirched. I think that was a bullet well dodged. A very good point For those who appreciate literary prowess and a healthy interest in reading I thought you might like a glimpse into Jay's library and a small example of his own creative writing from way back when. First, a clip including some of Jay's reading from when he had to pack for leaving (be quick...): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2T7-mHLmT4 01:45 ...and yeah, he can read sheet music!! Next, another glimpse of his bookcase via pics incorporated in a little piece written by Jay in the voice of Neytiri: http://www.sugarscape.com/celebs/new...jay-mcguiness/ Then, a lovely clip of Jay relating to youngsters... he'd make a great educator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HDkaMKU_RY 02:59 And in the packing video we got to learn that sometimes the old phones do turn up! Jnb I don't think there was really a reason for Jay's emotional outpouring other than the situation. Heart Vacancy girls were always such a random choice, on this occasion they were rather weepy emotional beings and I think Jay got caught up in the moment. Lovely to see other HV girls wanting a JayHug after the song finished...who in their right mind wouldn't ![]() He's such an empath, isn't he? thanks for this Quote:
Four of them sat on the panel
The public vote they tried to channel Away from our true dancing pair Until they got the Paddington Stare To show he wasn't taking any flannel The Grinch and the Grump The Dancer and the Chump The fudging 4 were not averse To make their comments rude and terse But t'was to no avail as their plan went bump Quote:

Some thoughts I missed out last night.
Re rebellion...that's always been an attraction for me and the signs were there in Strictly from the get go. TT, so glad you included 'stay back spray tan' in your compilation, for me that was a healthy sign that Jay was going to be his own man and also reminded me of a TW rebellion. Back when the band went to the US their new American management team placed a ban on alcohol, caffeine and all dairy, including cheese. So the boys promptly ordered a crate of beer, multiple cheese pizzas and coffees/teas to their dressing room and demolished the lot ![]() Back to SCD, I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall in wardrobe each week...I wonder how long it took for the penny to drop that Jay was in charge and no amount of cajoling would tempt him towards chesticle exposure, or dayglo sparkles. If anything, he went the opposite way with buttoned up shirts and multiple layers of shirts, waistcoats and jackets ![]() Oh, that also reminds me...and forgive me if this has been said but I'm not a Whovian and have skipped posts relating to Dr Who. Anyway, did you know Jay once said he felt like a time travelling Time Lord, named 'Upsilon'? Finally, I won't be sharing details here, but I had my first Jay dream last night. Today's going to be a good day...the smile hasn't left my face. ![]() ![]() ![]() Enjoy your day everyone X ETA FYI...we've already had 12k views on this part of the thread....
